Research firm DFC Intelligence says that PC gaming is alive and well, raising their internal forecast for the global PC market from $22 billion to $25 billion. Analyst Jeremy Miller says that although Asia contributes a large portion to the market, core PC gameplay in the west has increased, as "core gamers seem to be willing to spend more money than ever."
Much of that comes on the backs of League of Legends and Dota 2, which DFC says were the number one and two PC titles of 2013, respectively, with Dota 2 having the most growth in 2013. DFC says that due the domination of League of Legends and Dota 2, the MOBA genre is "far and away the largest because of those two games". PC FPS and MMORPG's come in second and third, with strong showings from the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Team Fortress 2 communities to help PC FPS surpass MMO's in 2013.
Thanks Razer!
I'll take this as the go ahead to slap any of my friends who say PC gaming is dead.
I feel like this has a great deal to do with kickstarter. thank you kickstarter
Has anyone even claimed that PC gaming is dead unironically in the past 3 years.

I think Kickstarter is one the the best things to happen to PC gaming. Lets developers target the diehard fans of specific genres without worrying about pandering to dudebros so the publisher can make back the millions they spent on advertising.

I'm honestly surprised fps's are ahead of mmo's. I mean besides TF2 and CS:GO, there isn't much in terms of frequently updated games.

CoD still has enough sales on PC, Battlefield series, and many other games like STALKER or Red Orchestra

will those last though? It seems the future is less about traditional multiplayer game sales and more about Free to Play games or in CS:GO's case, really low cost but still has F2P like support and free updates with crates and all. CoD Ghosts and BF4 have not been up to par with expectations.

BF4 beat my expectations much better than Ghosts did. I honestly wanted the game to be a good COD based off what they said at E3.. but it really wasn't much different.

CoD Ghosts, yeah it sucked.
BF4 is good but launched with bugs and issues, but compared to CoD they're trying to fix the problems. I'll still buy BF games after this.

If the PC Market is hitting near 25B, then the console market is near 400B. :suicide:
