Hello yet again Facepunch!
I do realize I constantly post in PC Building about Budget Gaming Builds but I just wanted to get the best possible build quality!
Now I have a $605 Budget to use to build a Budget Gaming PC (Desktop)
Items I don't need
Monitor
Keyboard
Mouse
Speakers
Items I do require along with the build
Operating System
Thank you all yet again!
Not the best time to be buying with a bunch of new stuff being released really soon.

Ivy Bridge dual cores won't launch for months, and he won't be getting a quad with that budget. There's no information whatsoever on the launch of midrange Kepler cards, so I really don't know what you're talking about.
I thought it was only the mobile dual cores that were delayed?
Nope. According to BBC's launch article the initial release is just 13 quad core models with dual cores coming later in the spring.

GTX 670 should be coming out very very soon, and 660 ti soon too. There is TONS of information and rumors on the new cards so idk what you're talking about, and knowing that 22 nm cards are being released soon is good enough reason to wait I think. Regardless of whether or not it's in his price range, it will mean price drops. Once Ivy Bridge quads release legendary gaming quads like the 2500k will be way cheaper. Whether or not he can afford the brand new stuff is entirely irrelevant, what matters is old stuff gets WAY cheaper.
Please provide this information on the mid range Kepler cards. You're working off of nothing until you actually post something. Also they're 28nm cards, not 22nm ones. 22nm is for Intel's processors.
Oh by the way you're wrong about the price dropping noticeably. CPUs typically don't have dramatic price drops when a new generation launches. The old clarkdale i3-540 still goes for $160 despite the $120 i3-2100 being vastly superior. And the Bloomfield i7s go for around $300 which is the same price as the Sandy Bridge i7-2600K which again is vastly superior. Hell the only reason AMD dropped the prices on their Phenom II X4 chips was to try and compete with Intel's i3 and grab buyers who already owned AM2+/AM3 motherboards. Bulldozer's launch had little no no impact on the prices.
Even if they did, the $2500K would need to drop around $100 to be in the ballpark of a $600 system that needs $100 allocated to buy the OS. That's never going to happen.
Could one of you atleast try to post a build that you might know would be good for my budget and just settle this debate elsewhere lol?

You know you could just take that $700 build I sent you and take the monitor, case, speakers, and KB + Mouse then add in a copy of Windows home premium. Should come out around $600.

Oh and swap the PSU I chose for a Neo Eco 520W. The Corsair CX500 isn't on sale anymore.
[editline]23rd April 2012[/editline]
I apologize. That was lazy of me. Here I did it and it comes out to $634. Mow somebodies lawn or something to get the $30, it's seriously worth it.

This is a pretty good looking build!
I probably will get this one but if possible could you create one that comes out to about $610 or atleast $620 or less?

I can't say as much about price drops for CPUs, but with videocards, new releases mean big price drops, as soon as 7xxx AMD cards were released 6870 and 6850 prices dropped in price, as did many other AMD cards. Legacy parts for CPUs often don't drop in price if people still need them because they don't have newer sockets, plus you need to look at used and lightly used parts, not just new ones. Plus Bulldozer was a disaster so that might explain why older AMD chips didn't drop in sales. We're talking computer hardware, prices ALWAYS drop for older parts unless they're still in high demand, you need to know where to look. My overarching point here is that it's generally not good to buy right before a bunch of new tech gets released.
Well that's funny because you only mentioned CPU price drops, not GPU price drops. You still haven't shown any evidence to support an imminent launch of midrange Kepler cards because there isn't any, and you're basically just trying to make excuses. You know, It's more commendable to admit when you're wrong rather than back-pedalling.

Aren't you a nice guy rating all my posts dumb and leaving snappy remarks... real mature. You're the one advocating buying old technology. Why don't you google Kepler midrange release dates... you'll find tons of stuff. It's time you admit you're wrong, rather than faulting me for trivial mistakes.
BTW to the OP, you could probably go cheaper if you bought AMD, but you'd need a new mobo obviously.

Until you actually provide some proof that Kepler does launch imminently you're the one who's wrong. I found nothing but speculation on Google, and you refusing to actually post anything yourself just further supports the idea that you're back-pedalling after being called out on making recommendations with no solid knowledge at all.

It's obvious... they already released the 680, the 670 will probably be released in a few weeks. It's called patterns, look at previous release cycles, they usually release mid range cards pretty soon after the the series is introduced. It's sad this needs to be explained to you, use logic (see I can be a condescending douchebag too!). Are you trying to argue that the mid range cards won't be released in a few weeks/months?
Also, don't forget that the point here is that new technology means lower prices.
Wow, rating my posts dumb in other threads too for absolutely no reason? You really are a miserable little geek, do kids beat you up in school or something?
Just go away.
Just go away.
I'll take that as, "you're right, but I really have no good response." Sorry for getting angry, but going around and rating all of my posts "dumb" is simply immature...
Seriously now how old are you guys exactly?

Sorry Egon, I know I haven't helped you much. I will gladly sell you my 6850 if you want to shave 50 dollars off the price of your build.
@garrynohome - Rating another post "dumb," this is really quite sad. Do you have nothing better to do?
