Just looks like an overhauled Prototype.
Prototype with more power, I like that.
I wouldn't say prototype had any sequel material in it.
And how many times do you think you'll be doing that same action over and over again?
Overall Prototype was a very average game once you got past the "OOOH I CAN DICE PPL UP AND DESTROY THEY'RE SHIT" combat, there really wasn't much to it.
Im ok with it, if they city feels alive and stuff, and proper vehicles. Maybe even driveable, just for the sake of it.
I liked Prototype except the end, I was expecting to be able to choose whether to keep the army alive and stop the infection, or vice versa but instead they gave me respawning hives and bases.
And how many times do you think you'll be doing that same action over and over again?
I'm betting they're gonna expand the variety of moves a lot for things like that, that got too repetitive (same hijack animation over and over in the first). I liked Prototype, I'll probably get this. People say Prototype is just a "omg kill everyting" game, which is partially true, but when you play it on hard mode it's actually pretty intense, and instead of running around dicing people up you spend a lot more of your time maneuvering through the city and bouncing off walls when you have 3-4 helicopters on your tail (they kill you pretty fast in hard mode). I liked the frantic pace of the game, not just the rad kill moves and the gore, the motion was very fluid and very entertaining.

Well that was unimpressive.
It was a few seconds showing one move.
Prototype was the shit but it got repetitive fast.
I liked prototype a lot. though I really couldn't be fucked with the side quests.
I liked prototype a lot. though I really couldn't be fucked with the side quests.
Do you mean gathering memories from people? If so you really should have done that, there was a lot of cool little bits and pieces in some of them.
Prototype was a fucking amazing game, best parkour game I've ever played. Too bad there was no replay value.
I wish the pc version acccctuuuuaaallllllly r-r-raaaaaaaaaaaannnnnn weeeeeeeeeeeeee-e-e-e-e prototype.exe has encountered an unexpected error
Prototype was a fucking amazing game, best parkour game I've ever played. Too bad there was no replay value.
I wouldn't really call it parkour, it larger scale. He basically just jumps from rooftop to rooftop and runs on walls
Prototype was pretty bad, I'm not sure where a sequel is coming from.
I really liked how fluid the combat was and how you had a lot of power, but still a challenge. The story was basic, but had a lot of Fridge Brilliance as you can read up on TV Tropes, so they did well with the story they did in my opinion. Better this than a giant complex story with a gazillion plotholes. At least for me Prototype actually had a lot of variety in battle because of all the different combos and whatnot. You could make one helicopter explode with the Muscle Strength power, then grab another one with the tentacle arm only to instantly let go and do a bullet dive on the ground troops, all within a few seconds and that's not even taking parkour into mind. Would be cool if they could put more focus on stealth tho. Action is where Prototype shined, no doubt, but I see so much potential for mind tricks when you're a shapeshifter and in control of a virus. Now that the protagonist is conscious of this, he might as well destroy the military from the inside like a puppet master. But really, this is all just for my personal delight of tricking the military into fighting with each other, be it because I ordered an Air Strike on their own frikkin bases or because I used Pansy to turn their paranoia into my strength. Psychological power, in a way.
Prototype was probably one of the most entertaining games of 2009. Sure, it was primal and simple in a way and lacked depth, but it did a really good job of making you feel super powerful only to knock you down as the game progressed with increasingly hard task forces being deployed to take you down. In the end though it ended up being very repetitive and the story was so-so. Mind you, one of the core mechanics of Prototype was the ability to take over the memories of key individuals, and those segments really pieced together the story in a good way and helped flesh it out. I'd like to see an overhauled Prototype with more of the stuff they promised with the first one, and I do actually believe that Radical can deliver on that.
Prototype was pretty average. I just hope they actually learned from their mistakes and make this one better than the first.
the worst part of prototype was the giant vagina flower boss in times square the one that spit rocks at you :argh:
It was a one trick pony.
Prototype 2:Same shit,New protagonist
My thoughts about Prototype: When I first played, I was like "This is the best thing ever" but after a few hours of playing it gets repetitive and boring. I didn't even finish the game.
IDK about you guys but the game gets way too hard near the end so missions stopped being fun and more like chores.
Wtf happened to Alex. He is bald.
i don't normally buy games on release day but prototype looked cool so i got it when it came out never again
