I am serious about getting tested for Aspergers syndrome - General

-snip- Don't reply, this is an old thread and I probably don't have aspergers, not that I even care if I do now. I got a score of 35 in the ASQ test, I often don't understand sentences, when I was a kid I stared at hands rather than what they pointed to and I could name the make and model of pretty much any car somehow. I think I am an introvert, and autism should probably be viewed in levels rather than just black and white autistic / not autistic, because I'm sure everyone has a little bit of autistic tendancies. But as I said, I don't care if I have it or not, it is what it is and I wouldn't want treatment anyway. It's more curiosity than anything.

Nah it's just called anti-social. Aspergers is made up bullshit in my [b]opinion[/b] for most people

Don't go get tested yet, a lot of doctors just hand out diagnosis on things that people really don't have. Do some testing yourself. Try talking to your roommates (or kitchenmates?) more. If you are able to progress in your social skills, you probably are just being paranoid. Like the person above me said, it sounds more like you might just be shy or more socially absent. A lot of the things you mentioned above are just normal effects for normal people. A lot people have trouble with social adjustment, independent living, etc. Don't jump to conclusions. Besides, the last thing you want is to pump drugs into you for no reason. EDIT: Well I don't know how they treat it, drugs or not, but you get the point.

Asperger's is a "get out of jail free" syndrome, like ADHD. It is just an excuse for weird antisocial kids, claiming they have asperger's so they don't have to be responsible for why they're afraid to talk to girls. Since Asperger's is treated symptomatically, it is almost impossible to tell whether you do have the syndrome or not. People like Ulillillia (google him) have Asperger's, not you.

Congrats...you're the same as I am But I look at it this way. I just enrolled in college...I've got a good handful of friends that are awesome...I'm looking for a job and working on getting my drivers license (need a vehicle to take it in). So as long as whatever I may have doesn't actually start to interfere with my life I don't give a fuck

I have Aspergers, you seem very similar to me in many ways, I also spend a good deal of the day using computers and have taught myself programming, electronics and many other things. I'm currently working on getting my GCSE's as I basically skipped the last few years of school. I can very well imagine what it is like having to deal with a large group of people. I scored 23 on the test, even though I have a professional diagnose. I don't feel different.

It also doesn't help that some people need to relise that some people just don't like being around other people. There isn't always a medical explanation to it. It's just the way some people are.

Antisocial is where you have no regard for anyone on your actions To be a sociopath is to be unable to comprehend the fact that others are in fact concious like you To not be social is just that, non-social.
