My christmas present this year is computer parts, but I have no idea what to get.

I read the rules and hopefully this isn't breaking any of them, but it's hard to tell with facepunch sometimes.
Anyway, my wonderful WONDERFUL mother said she would buy me anything computer-related from newegg, and as far as I know she's cool with anything $400 and below.
And before you say anything, I am 18, I'm a high-school senior.
Here are my specs:
(see below)
As you can probably see, my graphics card is in dire need of updating, but in order to replace my card with a new one, I'm going to need a new motherboard as well.
I know a little bit about graphics cards, but absolutely nothing about motherboards, so that's why I'm asking here.
I want a graphics card that could last me a few more years (maybe 2) that can play games such as ARMA II, Skyrim, Saints Row 2, Crysis 2 etc at their maximum, AND I want a motherboard that can handle it.
This might sound like a tall order, I'm not sure, but I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what to buy.
Let's consider the budget $450 and less.
Thanks you in advance for anyone willing to help.
use speccy and take a screenshot, whatever that is is very non-descriptive, also what kind of PSU are you running
SPECCY!
That's the program I was looking for.
Let me get that.

I don't have time to make a build but a z68 asrock and an i5 2500k, or an asrock z68, i3 2100 and probably a 6850 or 560 ti.

I've got the z68 asrock and an i5 2500k in my cart now, I assume the i5 is some sort of integrated graphics thing?
I'm not sure what it is and I'd like to know before I buy it.

It has intergrated graphics but they are shittier than the GPU you have now.
And thye i5 2500k is just a cpu with shitty graphics but great performance. the i3 2100 and a new graphics card would probably be best though as it performs just as well as the amd 980 phenom x4

Uh
Without trying to sound disrespectful, I don't understand a thing you just said.
Could you dumb it down for me? Like:
i5 2500
1)*what it is*
2)*what it will replace*
3)*what does it do (will it make my games run better?)*
Feel free to call me a retard, I have absolutely no idea what all this stuff is.

What it is, its a 4 core processor which means its almost like 4 processors in one.
What it will replace is your current processor and will make your computer run faster and better
what it does is exactly what I just said.

Once you get that, I would suggest you then gather the cash to upgrade the GPU, and the CPU. After that you'll have a beast of a machine

The 6850 and i3 2100 are already pretty beast like, I mean you are right it would be a nice upgrade but he doesn't really have to for awhile, Also if hes going to upgrade he should wait till april when Ivy bridge comes out and when the new 7000 series is released.
