• How to wipe a hard drive competely so I can install an OS onto a fresh empty drive

Hi, I'm getting some gay error about a CD/DVD device driver being missing whenever I try to install Windows 7 46 bit over my current windows 7 32 bit, so is there any way I can just completely wipe the hard drive and boot from the 64 bit installation disk so it won't complain about errors? Thanks
You're not trying to install why booted from your HDD are you :v:? Anyways, yeah but you'll need to boot from something, I recommend making a Linux Live CD (or gparted Live CD, in fact do this). From there delete the partition on your HDD. Don't bother formatting it afterwards from gparted, just delete the partition.
You can't wipe it with the Win7 install DVD? When you choose the drive/partition, hit advanced and delete the partition. Then click on new, ok, then next.
You can wipe a drive in a windows install disk, but it's hidden behind a bunch of "advanced" menus and confirmations. To avoid confusion, using gparted like the baconator suggested is a good idea.
