55 degrees Celsius CPU while browsing sites - normal?

Or not?
I can hear my fans whirring somewhat loudly right now.
CPU load for the past couple of minutes has hung around 12%.
Depends on your processor, but it's a good idea to clean your fans and heatsink anyway.
I've never opened up a computer case, it's not hard to do so and clean the insides is it?
Also, Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 at factory settings (3GHz)
Yeah, that's a bit hot for an E8400.
It's really simply, just open it up and whipe off(no water of course) the fans/heatsink and use some compressed air to get in the heatsink if you have it.
Mine is usually 60 Celsius when browsing FP. I had to buy an external keyboard and mouse because my laptop gets annoyingly hot to touch.

Laptops are supposed to run hotter.
How old is your pc and do you keep it on the floor in a dusty room with carpets?

If you mean mine, about 1-2 years, and it's on a wooden floor
eh my laptop is 60-70c with the cooling pad turned to it's lowest fan setting.
But it's an i7, so i guess it's expected.
