Hi,
I know this is probably extremely vague, but maybe someone can help me. I've got an old generic 15" LCD monitor which I just bought the power supply for. I'm sure the specs of the power supply are fine because I looked up the recommended power supplies and got the same spec as those.
Anyway, I plug the power in and the 'on' light becomes orange, which is standby I assume. If I press the power button, the light doesn't turn off like with most monitors. I plug the VGA cable into the computer (the VGA cable which is connected to the monitor is built in to the monitor, so like you can't unplug it) and the computer detects it, but doesn't show anything on the monitor.
Anyone know what might be the case, or some general troubleshooting that works in a lot of situations?
Thanks
Sounds like your monitor is broken. Have you tested it before? Has it really worked before?
Is this being used as a secondary monitor? You'll have to enable it, if so. Go in Resolution settings and look around.
I haven't used it before, no. I got it from a friend like 5 years ago and I decided to make use of it.
It was plugged in as a secondary monitor, yes, and I did enable it and my desktop was supposed to appear on it but it just stayed turned off.
