Here are my specs...
AMD Phenom x4 2.2 Ghz -
ATI 4890
3 GB ram
GIGABYTE M52L-S3P Mobo
Speedfan and the Gigabyte tool is reporting CPU temps in excess of of 60*+ yet when I reboot and check the CPU temp in the Bios i'm getting around 34*.
I re-applied thermal paste but that didn't achieve anything.
Anyone think this could simply be an issue with the temperature sensors?
I think up to 68C is within the tolerable range for most CPUs. That is hot though, is this idle temp or load?

Idle, I can't work this out at all... Rebooted and checked bios and it was at 34*, I can touch the cooler pipes and they barely feel warm. I'd expect it to be really hot to touch at the reported temps.
try this: http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php and see what temp it is showing
Well, on all 4 cores of my processor it's registering at 27* for each, so thats a CPU temp of 27? also there are still things I don't understand...
TMPIN0 54*
TMPIN1 40*
TMPIN2 52*
No idea what they relate to.
so it shows Core #0-3 at around 27C?
Each core has it's own temp but usually at idle they stay the same
those other temps are various motherboard sensors don't worry about those

So your temps are normal. Speedfan just isn't that accurate

Nope, it's way way out... and even the tool I got with the Mobo was registering the same... Unless of course I was reading it wrong. My GPU is my concern now, running at 57* idle...
Well the bios temps were reporting normal temps so the odds are the programs are not reading the temps accurately.
Also GPU is fine they run much hotter than CPUs. Expect to see load temps in the 70C's-80C's
or 106C if you run with IGP anyone.
