I hit a snag, Below is the original post. I was going to get the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131392 (ASUS Crosshair III Formula AM3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard) But my supplier can't find it anywhere, Which was odd to me. But now the real question, Can anyone suggest a new motherboard? That can Match/Top/Obliterate/Come close to this one?
was looking into upgrading my computer. Now, With all these fanjangled do-see-hows-its numbers that go with the parts, I'm not too sure what anything means now. For the Processor, I was thinking the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103674 (AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3) I'm also thinking I'm going to need a custom cooler to go with it, But not to sure what to look for in that. Now, Since there is all these numbers after the Motherboard name, Using the method of higher number is better and FX sounding fast. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131392 (ASUS Crosshair III Formula AM3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard) Ha Ha, Now the confusing part, All the Ram seems to come in triplets or says "Best suited to Core i5/7". Well, Since I'm terrible at this game, Here is a link to the DDR3 ram. -Edit- Found some Ram, Not to sure if it will work, I'm going to assume so. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145264&nm_mc=OTC-pricegrabbermerch&cm_mmc=OTC-pricegrabbermerch-_-Memory+(Desktop+Memory)-_-Corsair+(XMS+Series)-_-20145264 (CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600) Lastly, For the GPU or Grapics Card if you will. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150443&Tpk=xfx%205870 (XFX Fanjangled numbers Radeon HD 5870) Also, Lastly, Would the Corsair HW520W PSU run these? I'm going to assume no, but its worth a shot. I also have a sound card, So that shouldn't be needed. I have 3 Sata Harddrives and two DVD Rewriters. Just in case any of this matters. Future goals with the PC is pretty much to play Battefield: Bad Company 2 Online, Hopefully lagless on full graphics 98% of the time. Would there be any bottlenecks in this system? p.s. I really live in Australia, But I have contacts in the US to buy the parts cheaper, Well that is the plan. p.p.s. I'm getting the Corsair Obsidian 800D, Is this bad? (Filling up each fan slot with a ... you know fan.)
For ram I'd go with 2 2GB sticks at 1333. The power supply might work but if you don't already have it I'd say to go for a 600W That case is very expensive, the HAF 932 is a good full size case and it's much cheaper
Its true that it is expensive :\ But its just so sexy. [editline]03:07PM[/editline]
Its true that it is expensive :\ But its just so sexy.
Im thinking going the Antec 900, But really a case that has a dust filter. ... And is damn sexy.
For the cooler I suggest a Noctua or Cooler Master V8 (it's huge, mind you). For the PSU, maybe a 750W CORSAIR.

The PSU you posted should be alright, it's a high quality brand, and most systems don't need no where near as much power as people say.
Also for a case I would recommend the antec p183. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129061 I know you can't buy it from there but you can look at it. It's got dust filters cable management and every thing. Okay well not everything but it is a nice case.
That is the hottest case.
Yeah it is nice I got the mini 180 and it even looks better in person.
I have a 1000 watt psu, on compusa I think or newegg I frogot it was like 75% off till christmas and was at 100$ it works flawlessly so if you can find that it would do you great good for upgrades of the later times.
For a $1000 budget get an i5.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4494091&CatId=2535 I have always wanted to see how it works since the reviews are great but i never heard of the brand. Also Op if you can get stuff from the US get this combo. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.265981

It's pretty good to tell you the truth, It is quiet and I see no increase in heat for my pc. It also has a pretty LED light.
For a $1000 budget get an i5.
As much as this might be a better idea, I'm being a fanboy fag and going for an AMD. Also, Once again thanks for the replys. Would there be any bottlenecking that I should know about?

Also Op I definitely recommend the p183 over the obsidian not because the obsidian is bad but you save so much money going with the 183, possibly enough for another gpu.
