*cough* Well, if you think that's plausible, I'll let you believe that.
So:
it spoke mostly about software hacking as a weapon
More missions on which you have to defend a computer while "hacking" stuff from it. Around 2 more missions on which you have to control a vehicle.
We're doing all kinds of advancements on the graphics engine that is going to, I think, yield great results if you've invested in a new rig
MW3 already was unoptimized as fuck and ran like crap on my computer, so why care at all? If I ever get this it's going to be on the ps3 where even my stepfather is gonna outplay me. [editline]29th May 2012[/editline]
*cough* Well, if you think that's plausible, I'll let you believe that.
Guys listen Guys This is the best idea Let's grab a tank and put LEGS LEGS ON A TANK
I just want cool things in a game. No need for them to be plausible imo.

I hope that's what will happen at least.

The quadruped robot thing is based off the BigDog with obvious creative license. The fact that something like that might exist in 13 years is atleast possible. Upscaling such a system and putting armor and guns on it doesn't seem too out there. I just don't know what the practical applications for a walking tank would be.

They already have the basic concept, upscaling it is like taking a highly detailed model and upsizing it, while compensating for the higher weight and general instability of something extremely top-heavy like the walking tank in the pic.

I mean, the legs aren't really the most plausible part of it, but that's pretty much just a big dog with a gun ontop.
Going back to current hardware, Lamia promises that PC players will have an stand-out experience for their chosen platform. The team is optimizing for for DX11, and a proprietary anti-cheat system. "We're doing all kinds of advancements on the graphics engine that is going to, I think, yield great results if you've invested in a new rig. I think the flip side of that is, if you have a rig that's been around for a couple of years, that's fine too. Because we're actually trying to make it play really great on a wide variety of systems."
I highly doubt it. This is obviously just to make people think "oh, we're "trying" this time, come buy the game now"
I just want cool things in a game. No need for them to be plausible imo.
Depends on the genre. In a down-to-earth scenario I don't want laser beams and shields to be flying around everywhere, because they look out of place instead of cool in a scenario where they would fit. The differentiation between Hard SciFi and Soft SciFi and High Fantasy and Low Fantasy is basically about that.
How the fuck are you going to maneuver that big dog tank in COD?
I highly doubt it. This is obviously just to make people think "oh, we're "trying" this time, come buy the game now"
I dunno about the details in the news post but I haven't purchased a CoD title that doesn't run like a dream on my PC. MW3 had horrible lag issues but that's because of IWNet. Other then that all the others ran almost perfect. [editline]29th May 2012[/editline]
How the fuck are you going to maneuver that big dog tank in COD?
I'd imagine with either WASD or analogue sticks.

Other then that all the others ran almost perfect.
CoD4 and MW2 ran great for me too, no problems; but Black Ops has always run like shit compared to the two, which is why I think they won't do a very good job this time round either. [editline]29th May 2012[/editline] Treyarch just isn't good at optimising games.
Copy Much?
I'm sorry, you were saying?
So: MW3 already was unoptimized as fuck and ran like crap on my computer, so why care at all? If I ever get this it's going to be on the ps3 where even my stepfather is gonna outplay me.
Haha.... no, MW3 is just as opitimised as COD4 was, there's not a huge difference in performance and resource hogging between the two, Blackops however was unoptimized as fuck
Why the fuck does everyone think that legs should be put on a tank? It would make it really vunerable in a combat situation. I think the best thing to do would be to just use large wheels, for speed and maneuverability. Like the Mako from mass effect, for instance.
I'd imagine with either WASD or analogue sticks.
But the maps are generally small, there are very few spots where there are wide enough gaps to use it.
Call of Duty has been shit, and shall continue to be shit, for a long while. Nothing will change that.
Call of Duty has been shit, and shall continue to be shit, for a long while. Nothing will change that.
well hey i didn't know opinions were facts!!
I'm sorry, you were saying?
Ehem...
And large wheels wouldn't be vunerable?
If you shoot out a tire, at least the wheel is still usable. Hit one of those legs with an RPG and I'm 100% sure in a realistic situation the tank would be rendered more unusable than a conventional tank.
That thing isn't a tank, it isn't even bigger then a SUV. You should compare it to something like a armed Humvee without passengers. [editline]29th May 2012[/editline] And I'm pretty sure firing a RPG into a wheeled tank would fuck up the suspension and what not pretty badly.
Call of Duty has been shit, and shall continue to be shit, for a long while. Nothing will change that.
Only MW3 was sort of bad. All the others before were Ok at the very least. [editline]29th May 2012[/editline]
Ehem...
Wasn't there gonna be a sequel or a remake of this? If not, there should be.
*cough* Well, if you think that's plausible, I'll let you believe that.
I don't see much point in a lumbering four legged mech. I have trouble thinking how it would be better than a tracked vehicle of today's technology. For something in that size range, take that ripsaw tank thing, equip it with better tech and you have a far more believable and practical weapon.
6 year old graphics? The trailer was most likely 360 footage and it looks much better than a lot of recent games. It also runs at a constant 60 FPS on consoles, which very few games can pull these days. EDIT: Actually is 360 gameplay, there were some the buttons on some of the video.
