I just got the swine flu vaccination yesterday for free because they were offering it at our college, 4-25 year olds being the prime targets for being susceptible to swine flu. Thought I'd share some random stuff about the experience if you're considering getting it or whatever.
It was really quick, just a prick of a needle, it literally took two seconds. Felt a pinch and then they were all "bye". Arm a little tender at point of entry; smaller people have complained of feeling their entire arm aching with pain and becoming weak and such. Seems safe enough, aside from that one story about the girl who got it and now can only function when running forwards or walking backwards (anyone want to post that video?).

It apparently takes about a week to kick in, and you can feel side effects like vomiting, lightheadedness, fever, and other such general sickly feelings, usually a day or two after getting the shot. Ironically, that's exactly enough time to get the swine flu and get over it by the time the vaccination kicks in. At the same time, those symptoms are pretty alike to flu, so, you know, whatever. I'm actually feeling feverish at the moment, so I'm pretty sure I've got swine flu. (I'm not serious; it's just the vaccine, I'm sure. I hope.)
Aside from that blah blah, if you get it you can either get a killed version of the swine flu inserted into your arm via needle, or a "live" intranasal spray. I'm not entirely sure what that implies, but I'll leave that up to your imagination. Anyone else have any experiences with the swine flu/vaccination?
Those symptoms will appear if you have the nasal spray. The term "live" means that there are live H1N1 cells in the vaccine, and sometimes you will feel some of the symptoms of the full blown swine flu. The shot has no actual living cells, and is perfectly safe.
Enjoy your immune system being fucked up in 20 years.
It's too late, you're already a pig.
If the aftershot is really what you say, I'd be much easier just to get swineflu directly.
By the way, it's H1N1 now.
THE GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO KILL YOU

Just so ya know.
I got the intranasal spray yesterday.
Not feeling anything yet.
All it is is just a little mist you inhale through your nostrils.
I got the vaccination via nasal spray. It was a bit uncomfortable for a while but didn't hurt at all.

I personally am not getting the vaccination.
I heard that the nasal spray isn't very affective. I'll wait for the actual shot.

Thanks! Put into OP.
Why get a vaccination for something that is less threatening then the common flu?

You're welcome :v:
That video... wow.
That video... wow.
I know. It's really sad.
Why get a vaccination for something that is less threatening then the common flu?
Because it's a new virus strain that people have hardly encountered, so they have less immunity to it.
Why get a vaccination for something that is less threatening then the common flu?
Because it's more threatening than the common flu.
Because it's more threatening than the common flu.
Actually, in some cases it's been less threatening, almost like a bad cold, but other cases are like an unusually serious case of the flu.
Well it's not dangerous.
swine flu =/= aids
Well it's not dangerous.
It is if you have a weak immune system, or if you don't take of yourself properly.
Is it ironic that the Swine Flu vaccination gives you flu like systems? I always crack up at the pharmaceutical ads. "Blood clot and stroke, and serious bleeding may occur". Shit, I rather suffer through the illness I had, rather than possibly die from a drug that is supposed to CURE YOU.

Rating yourself agree doesn't make you right.
They do this so that you can build up an immunity of the virus.

Yes, yes it is ironic.
I got the swine flu vaccination around four to five days ago, and i've felt like shit since then.

Yes, flu like systems are serious.
But flu doesn't kill you like swine flu may.

Yeah! I'm feeling pretty crappy right now, too. But, hey, it means we'll be immune to swine flu. Isn't it worth it? :v:
