Maybe it's a sign that they should move to a new engine instead of one that's about as sturdy as a tower made of old gum and pretzels.

I haven't had any issues with the engine they've used in Skyrim; Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Oblivion on the other hand...
Good, Dragonborn feels like an actual expansion, it's pretty damn good for a DLC, meanwhile Dawnguard and Hearthfire are terrible, especially in comparison to Dragonborn, DG definitely deserves to be ported first.
Have you even played dawnguard? its not crappy its actually a great dlc and hearthfire was bethesdas response for people who wanted to be parents and own land since you know, you can't really mod consoles

They definitely need to keep building upon it and improving features and such but its pointless in them creating a whole new engine. Why do you think Valve have kept source for 8 years? Because it has everything they need and they can easily build upon it.

It's a ton better than "here is a free mansion in the middle of nowhere have fun" mods, and the other housebuilding mods just pale in comparison.
Eh Dawngaurd was ok but it had like one thing going for it. Dragonborn is pretty awesome so far and kinda hard as shit too. I mean its just a simple little addon.
