Right now I run a 1GB 4870 on my 1280x1024 monitor. I just ordered 2 21.5 inch monitors but I still want to be able to use this monitor, not for gaming, just for offloading workspace etc.
Seeing as the 4870 only has ports for 2 Monitors, would I be able to plug in my old ATI 2600 Pro and use that to run this monitor? Would there be any issues in doing so?
Edit: Instead of the 2600 pro, my Mobo has an onboard HD 4200, would this work?
Why does no-one reply to my tech support threads.
Usually because noone is online that is sure about the solution.
I guess that what you want to do won't work, your cards need to be of the same generation to work with eachother, and the onboard solution wont work either.
It will work fine.
I have done this on a ATI x1600 Pro + ATI x850 XT. and before that, an ATI x1600 Pro + Nvidia geforce 8400 GS and BEFORE THAT an ATI x1600 Pro and the onboard x1200.
