The question is whether the developers can build a structure around this that’s good enough to tempt you away from the obvious alternatives. Let’s get serious: going head-to-head with Counter-Strike, or even Red Orchestra, is going to be a losing battle.
Well, the original Insurgency was somewhat unique (maybe more like RO if anything) but I heard they made this more like CoD.

It was pretty silly and felt like they cheapened the experience, running and gunning was more viable than taking it slow. That being said, the game has gotten much better over the past few months, and it seems like they realized these issues and have been working hard to correct them. I was an alpha tester for the original mod for years, and it started out alright and went downhill pretty fast - this game is already better than the mod is today. One of the biggest issues with the mod right now is the awful map design and small number of maps, although that could have changed since I last played it - about to start it up and see whats available.
This one is a bit more faster paced than the original Insurgency, maps are a bit more close quartered. It plays a lot like battlefield, only more like TF2's 5cp maps. It's really fun though. If people played more I'd definitely suggest picking this up.
I really enjoyed the mod in all its incarnations. Hopefully this will surpass though, it had a lot of issues.
I bought this game and i regret it.

Fuck up big and everyone knows your a dumb ass, but there are some nice players. It's unfortunate that the pros that have been playing for 5 years and the newbies all have to play on the same server, very lopsided battles since version 1 came out.
I'm enjoying it.
If I remember right I liked the sound design in the old mod. Is it still good?
