A destroyed Kebap.
Most of you might not know but the "concerned citizen" movement Legida, an immitation of the Pegida movement had its one year anniversary yesterday.
Thousands of protestors rallied against it.
However, the "concerned citizens" didn't mind Hooligans joining their cause. Yesterday they trashed an "alternative scene" quarter in Leipzig.
See for yourself.
Police in the German city of Leipzig made 211 arrests after far-right supporters vandalised buildings and burned vehicles on the fringes of an "anti-Islamisation" rally.
The unrest came as thousands of activists protested peacefully.
They blame Germany's record influx of refugees for sexual violence against women at New Year's Eve festivities.
Officials say the perpetrators of assaults in Cologne were almost exclusively from a migrant background.
Apparent retaliatory attacks in the cathedral city on Sunday, in which at least 11 people from Pakistan, Syria and Guinea were hurt, were condemned by the government as inexcusable.

Some 250 rioters smashed windows, burned cars and rubbish bins, and threw fireworks that set a floor of a building on fire, reports say.
What's missing in this is that they deliberately used fireworks to target buildings.
But of course both sides have idiots:
Left-wing activists vandalised a bus that had been hired by the far-right supporters. The police statement did not say whether any leftists had been detained.
What's left to mention is that this stuff has been brewing since NYE.

Yes. "Untermenschen"
Some Facebook groups called for violence and destruction on Monday the 7th

Hopefully people do not see this as a zero-sum game. It's possible to be against mass immigration and to be aware of the problems it causes while simultaneously condemning bigots and extremists. People are right to protest, but it's abhorrent to destroy property in the process.
It's crazy how people fight against something that is harming their country by destroying their country :v:
Fucking mob mentality.
"anti-Islamisation"
This word is so familiar to me where I live, it's so predictable to determine what happens not long after it pops up.
I hope many German people don't allow the "us vs them" mentality to develop amongst the right-wing like it is over here in the U.S.

The European far right is fascinating.
The rise of the right-wing in Europe is due to liberal unresponsiveness on the immigration issue. The void is filled with bigots and extremists.
[editline]12th January 2016[/editline]
The left-wing is quick to proclaim the "backlash" against Western liberal imperialism abroad, but they are mostly blind to the similar phenomenon occurring at home amongst the white population.
Kristallnacht all over again yay

Right wing idiots being right wing idiots is not the fault of people feeling empathy.
People beating up foreign looking pople in Cologne as "revenge for NYE" is not the fault of trying to help people.

but it's okay because this time they deserve it, right? they were supposed to be doctors and lawyers

What?
but it's okay because this time they deserve it, right? they were supposed to be doctors and lawyers
is there something more to this post that i'm missing because i'm interpreting a lack of a valid point
i assume he's making a joke out of the fact that people constantly go "LOL THEY SAID THEY WERE DOCTORS AND LAWYERS LOL"
rather than actually endorsing another atrocity
right jgcxcub?
but it's okay because this time they deserve it, right? they were supposed to be doctors and lawyers
I think he was making a comparison and not cheering for a new Kristallnacht which would be absolutely deplorable?
Kristallnacht was a state organised orgy of violence at the height of power. This is just the desperate fighting of once guilt ridden nativists against the government and liberal cosmopolitanism, against erosions of the western identity and its rule over the land and the cities. This is popular reaction against all sorts of forces, elite or foreign, arrayed against the native working class, who are held in contempt by the 'progressive' liberal elite (a group that never lives around the populations they import) for their homogeneous society and in group preferences, low birth rate, unwillingness to do unskilled work, inclination to authoritarian ideologies, etc. None of this makes for a 'competitive' nation in a globalized world with a fetish for eternal growth, but it does make for a place you'd rather raise your children in.

fuck you can always count on conscript to throw in some absolutely bonkers suggestions (liberals importing refugees)
you're right though, some right wing skinheads trashing a place because they're racist is definitely the desperate cries of the oppressed against the liberal bourgeoisie
[editline]12th January 2016[/editline]
i mean that's why they attacked a kebab shop instead of government buildings, because kebab shops are the ultimate representation of the liberal influence on germany
Liberal-capitalists do import third worlders though, often exactly because they are third world young men. They have no traditions of trade unionism, they help solve unskilled labor shortages and having too many old people, they're a left wing voting bloc, etc. It just looks so progressive and in today's neoliberal era you can pitch a economical aspect to it.
If I am to understand correctly, the volk has been deemed to be on the wrong side of history by a liberal elite.

What the hell is the "native working class", you can't throw a watterbomb into that mob without hitting someone who has some eastern European surname.

No. Deliberately firing firework rockets into houses where people are living is really just the expectation you need to have when you "force" foreign culture onto those poor sods.
I especially love
the liberal elite (who never live around the populations they import)
Connewitz is FULL of foreigners. It's a known alternative scene place full of the weirdest shit, losers of society next to art projects, startups and some of the most exciting food places you could find in Leipzig(mainly inspired by *gasp* foreign food culture mixed with local ideas*)

it can be that they're lashing out both because they feel unheard and because they're also racist, it doesn't need to be one or the other.
i mean that's why they attacked a kebab shop instead of government buildings, because kebab shops are the ultimate representation of the liberal influence on germany
because they are being stupid about it
WHAT the fuck is import, does slave trade continue without my knowledge??
"The volk"?? this is ridiculous.
It's a fairly accurate term. We import lower-value labour from other countries to fill the gaps in our own labour market, or to lower the wage, or for another reason. Often it also results from government policy.
It's a fairly accurate term. We import lower-value labour from other countries to fill the gaps in our own labour market, or to lower the wage, or for another reason. Often it also results from government policy.
Except in this case they were either drowning or piling up on the borders in mass camps so we tried to help.
Why are you apologizing for them?
Normal people rationally against refugees DON'T attack kebab shops owned by working, tax paying not-refugees.
Attacking a kebab shop has 1 incentive only, and that is not "not being heard".
it isn't apoligism to say "hey there is more than one reason they are doing this". i never implied they were rational, only that there is more to their thought process than "fucking HATE brown people". yes, that is a part of the process, but it isn't the only part.
and i said they are being idiots because they're letting their base xenophobia and racism direct their anger rather than directing it at something that is actually effective.
Except in this case they were either drowning or piling up on the borders in mass camps so we tried to help.
We tried - that's the keyword. I don't think the way we're helping is optimal for them and us. According to UN reports, we could house 10 of their families for the same cost in the neighbouring nations instead of housing 1 family in Europe or the West.
The advantages of this is:
It's cheaper for everyone
There's less culture shock or even none
Same religions
Easier for them to return back home once it's all done
What the hell is the "native working class", you can't throw a watterbomb into that mob without hitting someone who has some eastern European surname.
Nice random bigotry and baseless assumption, friend
I guess us subhumans of Eastern European descent are neither worthy of being called natives nor capable of being working class citizens
This is what I Fear about it Germany being ultra pc
This is what I Fear about it Germany being ultra pc
...right wing people attacking property?
that's what you fear?

I don't think he's trying to offend Eastern Europeans. I know this is only anecdotal evidence but I'm a Lithuanian and I know a lot of Eastern Europeans who live here too, and they are predominantly anti-refugee and islamophobic.
...right wing people attacking property?

What I fear is that anyone who dares bring a question about refugees or immigrants from Muslim country ( like they have to accept it 100% they can't ask to lower the number of refugees coming in even if there is legit reason like food or housing and that will make them be lambed racist etc ) that person will be lambed racist and wont at the very least listen to what they have to say. As well as that I believe German cops where raiding anti refugees people ( could be wrong about that )
To the point ( where some people feel ) to recanting to it like this
being PC is doing the opposite in the long run Its MAKING people hate refugees and I dont want that either

We already are, the neighbouring nations house more than 4 million refugees from Syria and a new wave from Jemen and the Kurd regions that Turkey is currently bombing is on the way.

I'm not saying Eastern Europeans are all xenophobic holy shit I'm saying that there is no "native working class" by illustrating that most Germans have some foreign background because of history.
The ones who are, without any irony, using the word "subhumans" are them.
As shown in the OP.
I would never use that word about anyone.

No.
It's fine to talk about that some of them are bringing along problems. There is no denying that. Maybe it's even a lot of them. I don't know the numbers.
Just don't say that all of them do.
When you make broad generalizations, that's when the Xenophobia starts.

Yeah, it's a similar deal to what happened back then, a lot of people in germany back then thought it was justified, and while we look back and say "that's an atrocity" a lot of people nowadays are saying similar things about this
