Recently, I've been looking around trying to find a decent laptop that can do day to day things and run mild/decent games, all for around under $800. I know thats kind of a stretch since most laptops that run video games usually come at a minimum of $1000, but I just found this and it seems rather okay. Now before I go ahead, tweak it a little and buy it, I need to figure if that graphics card (NVIDIA® GeForce® 9400M G) is alright. I've seen lots of reviews, now I just want to get some interaction with people that have something to say about it. Should I bump up the processor for it? Is this thing not up to par with most of today's games? Does it burn battery fast? Does it overheat easy? Etc.
Man...that laptop looks like a steal. But I'm looking for portability also (asking for a lot). Right now, I own a 15.4" laptop and I have found that it has got in the way most of time I'm doing something. But I'll keep that laptop in mind.

Those are big ass laptops yo. Keep in mind I'll be needing to carry this thing around to different classes. So It needs to be somewhat discrete. I think I'll go ahead and get the dell I listed, now I just need to figure what processor will do. I think 2.2ghz can overclock okay to 2.4ghz. Anything lower might get iffy :P
I wouldn't overclock a laptop processor....

OH wait get this

@noobmuffin: I'm just looking for something that can run a source game on med-high at an okay frame rate, and Hl2 preferred says 2.4ghz. Maybe 2.1 is good enough, considering from the reviews of that laptop you listed earlier.
@John: Thank you so much for the list of laptops, but none really fit ALL the needs I require. Those processors were the thing that turned me down, but thanks :D
Is this for school or gaming
both is not an answer, that will run source games fine, ghz are not equal to performance
hell an atom 1.6ghz(which the core2solo trashes) will play COD4 fine don't believe me?

game "requirements" are generic bullshit
[editline]11:06PM[/editline]
because of what John said
School requires batterylife + light weight
Gaming requires performance which are usually different from school
they don't mix well but things like the MSI will do fine
or this

but the MSI is about half the weight
