At the minute I currently have these:
Radeon 4850HD [1GB memory]
AMD Athlon II x2 245
400W PSU

I don't really give a shit which brand they are as long as I'm getting the best bang for my buck. Help is very much appreciated :)

Lol, you can't use an Intel CPU in an AMD motherboard.
Oh then this should work right

That still isn't going to work. Your motherboard will only support a Phenom II x4 955.
And since your motherboard uses an AM2 socket, the Phenom II x4 will be severely crippled assuming you found a 955. The first reason it will be crippled is due to having DDR2 instead of DDR3, and the second is the HT link will be reduced from 5.2 GHz to 2 GHz.
I would spend your upgrade money towards getting away from that outdated motherboard. I'd suggest going with Intel since anything in the Phenom II series is severely outclassed by even offerings from the last generation of the i3/5/7 series, and faildozer is well.. faildozer.
You shouldn't really have to worry about your GPU, the 4850 is still a decent card, though I would get a new PSU, a generic 400W is kind of weak and sketchy.
