According to defitinion, you CAN trip off weed (Read before posting).

I've seen loads of people flame/get flamed for describing their cannabis experience as "a trip", I've had it pushed in my head that NO, you cannot trip off weed. Today I saw a post saying "I wanted to get high and trip again", this sounded really stupid and inaccurate. So I was going to post about it. I remembered, though, that it's equally stupid to post an argument without the necessary research, so I went to the internet!
Here are photographs and journal entries of my journey:

- "The psychedelic experience is characterized by the perception of aspects of one's mind usually unavailable to ordinary waking consciousness, or by the creative exuberance of the mind liberated from its ordinary restraints. Psychedelic states are one of the stations on the spectrum of experiences elicited by sensory deprivation as well as by psychedelic substances. On that same spectrum will be found illusions, changes of perception, altered states of awareness, but there are many common themes, and ranges from a sense of connectedness to everything in the immediate vicinity, to a sense of oneness with everything in the universe. Potentially, the range of the drug-induced psychedelic experience goes far beyond drugs."
Click: Level 1
- "This level produces a mild 'stoning' effect, with some visual enhancement (e.g. brighter colors) Some short term memory anomalies. Left and right brain communication changes causing music to sound 'wider'. Can be achieved with moderate to high doses of cannabis or low doses of psilocybin.[2]"

Well, that's that...I'm done. Days of struggle, famine, death, all products of one man's burning desire for knowledge. I take a moment for self-reflection, and begin the journey home...

In all seriousness, I didn't mean to be rude, that's why I constantly edit my posts.
I don't know about you guys, but I go into an altered state which I consider a "trip" every time I smoke weed.
maybe I'm just weird

Don't worry about it, man.
I've got a huge history of posting flames/trolls/shit like that and then changing it. :v:

This happened to me quite a few times when I saw Thor high.
To be fair anything that messes with your senses can make you trip because in essence it's just to experience something that isn't there.

It's called being high.
Why are you quoting things on Wikipedia and making threads about it

Be quiet, you don't even come to DD.
I reach level 1 or 2 regularly with nothing but weed. I remember one time though we made some extremely potent brownies and smoked a few grams in one day. I think I hit a dream like level 3 state. When I get high as fuck everything seems warped and there are patterns everywhere. Sometimes I have CEVs and frequent moments of eternity. Extremely altered perceptions, in short. Level 3 is extremely rare for me though. It's hard as shit for me to walk normally, being a clumsy ass. When I'm even a bit buzzed I just look drunk as shit. Kind of nice being a lightweight to everything.
I think this is a case of "Technically it's this, but everyone agrees it's not/shouldn't be referred to as"

I can express my opinion and i believe i did come to DD
I hallucinate quite a bit on pot. I got psychologically profiled because I was worried about it being indicative of schizophrenia and the psychiatrist said that some people are simply more psychoactive than others, and react with mild hallucination when drunk, high, or tired.
I generally experience perceptual distortions, and wavering text. When I am blitzed I can get to the point where my entire peripheral vision seems to be rippling like it is underwater and I can barely walk because the ground is doing the tilting thing that happens after you become very dizzy.
I always thought the word "Trip" came from Tryptamines, so technically you can't trip off of cannabinoids. No idea if I'm right though.

This is actually exactly what it's like for me. Were you diagnosed with any conditions that do potentiate smoking though? I'm considering getting profiled myself.

You're wrong. Tripping is more like your mind taking a trip into another dimension or some shit like that, it has nothing to do with tryptamines. Besides, there are far many more things than only tryptamines that can make you hallucinate and trip.
You can achieve a weed-induced trip at high enough doses, or if it's your first few times. It isn't the same as tripping with tryptamines and such, it is more of a mental trip than visual (although some people can achieve CEVs and OEVs with weed, I get CEVs at high enough doses), but nevertheless a trip.

I'm well aware of all of this, I'm just talking about where the word originated from. After all, the word began to see its first use at the height of LSD's popularity if I'm not mistaken, and LSD is a tryptamine. It just seems to me that it is far too big of a coincidence.

You pretty much summed up exactly what I meant.

Maybe it's called a trip because you are taking a mental 'trip' to a new dimension.
