So last month I was chatting on Skype for a few hours, and suddenly the entire screen went red and then an error message came up telling me to hold the power button to restart the computer. The computer would restart fine.
I thought something just fucked up and it wouldn't happen again.
Last night I was Skyping again, and it happened again.. TWICE
Here's the error. I DID take a picture with my phone, but I actually just google image searched for it and found the exact same image. The thing is, only the first time that I got the error did my computer screen turn red and then the error came up. Last night both times it turned gray only.

My guess is that it was overheating. But I'm not sure.
Any ideas?
This happened to me twice, was browisng, minecrafting and streaming on spotify and a black curtain type thing came over and told me to restart. Happened to me twice in a few days but never again. Possibly overheating, if it happens a third time take it to an Apple store and fucking VAPORISE them with your anger.
A friend who was in my uni class who works at Apple now, they do actually recommend just a restart. DERDER
Check error codes?
Try going to Library > Logs > panic.log and show us the contents.
Don't the new Macbooks have some sort of crashing issues?

This is an older generation, shouldn't be affected.
Yeah I purchased my Macbook April 2009, almost 2 years ago.
I think I'm gonna run to the Apple Store tomorrow after work to see what they can do for me. It happened two more times today while Skyping. It has only happened during Skype, not any other time.

Do a bit of troubleshooting before taking it back, it'll really help if you do an extended looping test for three/four hours using the Apple Hardware Test. You can do this by booting to the AHT disc, then pressing E for extended, L for looping and then T for test.
If this returns an error code, you've got a hardware issue that Apple will help you with. If you don't, then you're probably looking at an unusual software based issue which Apple's phone support will usually only help you with as opposed to the store which bookings only last 20 mins.

Reinstall Skype, problem solved. Probably.
