Well, this came out of no where. I want to know the big differences between this and the original release. They say there's balance changes but what has been changed? I've sunk around 200 some hours in the original and I don't know if it's worth while to re-invest. Any one know anything else?

Wow, it's getting trashed in the user reviews.

Holy shit. I thought the original DD had some crazy post processing...but this is pumping it to 11

Nice, selling a patch.
It doesn't even contain all the DLC.
It's a good game if you don't have it already, but this is pretty low even for trendy.
Edit: It appears to be the mobile port.
this is also online only, meaning no private matches or solo/lan play.

You've got to be kidding me.
Is this supposed to be the game with all the dlcs? Anyways seems like they just upgraded the normal game with hats and cosmetics.

Sounds like a copy pasta story from Final Fantasy.
Alright, played the game for about 15 hours for a decent review, playing the entire campaign and reaching around level 20-30, and I have to say it's really worth it if you liked the original. It fixes the blatant hacking and grindfests near the end of the game with a steady game flow and decent loot system. What they did was made the transitions from difficulties much more smooth instead of having to grind in a specific place for hours on end just to progress. Which means no more getting stuck at certain levels. Also it seems like they made it so if you're doing certain missions on normal difficulty, they all require level 20 or below instead of having things stupidly high like level 60.
They also have a store but all they seems to sell is cosmetics, and they fixed a lot of the problems stated in the community forums within a day.
Basically it's Dungeon Defenders 1.5, introducing things that DD2 will use for their systems and putting it into DD1 as well as fixing problems the game had. (Such as no private matches, they just added that.)
So if you liked Dungeon Defenders and are waiting for Dungeon Defenders 2, pick it up. It's fun, a fresh breeze, and you'll get some things for the next game when it comes out.
btw this is just a straight port of the mobile version.

What's the deal with the visuals? All the screen shots im seeing from the hub look rather downgraded, is that true?

I also heard that they made this with the intent of cross platform play. Essentially they have one version of the game that can run on mobile and computer.

The hub is downgraded due to it being public to everyone now. They seemed to have not yet implemented achievements, so there's no place for trophies. Interestingly enough though is that they still have the two secret rooms.
Also yes it's true, it has cross platforming.

good god that is ugly
Yeah luckily you can turn it off though, post processing effects are kinda dumb in any game, and just eat up FPS
