CPU: AMD FX-6100 3.3GHz (64 bit six core)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 1GB
8 gigs ram
300 watt psu
(150$ upgrade budget)
There are plenty of games I couldn't play on my old rig. Could this one run games like GTA IV, Dues Ex:HR, PS2, or Hawken? Or are there any parts I need to upgrade right off the bat?
I'll be taking the HDD, speakers, and monitor (1680 x 1080) from my old rig, and the prebuilt includes a mouse, keyboard, and os.
I feel like I should mention that in regards to PC's, I am technically inept. I just want Facepunch's opinion on this rig because I have no idea what I'm doing.
That gpu is really bad and won't run the games you listed at 1680x1050. What's your total budget? Building your own rig would be a better idea than buying a prebuilt. You will get a lot more performance for the price
There is no real point in getting a prebuilt with the intent of upgrading cause basically you have to rip 80% of and replace it to get a decent build. Just save your money and build a proper one

I strongly agree! Looking at the price of that pre-build gives me a headache considering what it actually contains. While that build might have good reviews, one must understand that, the people who buy them are inept themselves. Might I suggest:

I take it that the $150 upgrade is for after you've rebuilt. This should be in that range and is on par with what's being offered in that package. I've read somewhere that the company IBuy or w/e are not as good at giving you the bang for your buck. Anyway, this is just one of many options to choose from.
This PSU is cheaper (after rebate) and is corsair so the build is solid

also this ram is cheaper

And a Good Cheap case in my opinion:

Keep in mind he'll still need an OS.
Thanks for the input guys. Like I said, I have no idea what I'm doing.
I have a total budget of $800, and will go ahead and look at the parts you guys suggested.
Here's the absolute best you can get.

If you need to cut those excess 29$ you can save on the RAM, PSU or MOBO
He doesn't need DDR3 2133, only maybe 1600.
Also, that case is ugly.

If you're gonna get a NAXN, get the cheap model: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194090
If you can, get this open box deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157297R
And here's some decent RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145315
This pretty much what you can cut, unless you go with 4GB.

For some reason the case was in a separate area. It comes to $806 w/ shipping and you also get $45 in MIR. If your current hard drive is an IDE drive, then you can swap out the i5-3570k for an i3-3220 which should give you enough room in your budget for a 1TB WD Caviar Black. In case you don't know the difference between an IDE and SATA drive, this would be coming out of an IDE drive while this would be coming out of a SATA drive (note they can be different colors than red).
Reading around a bit, this may be the best choice for you: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817104149&Tpk=FSP%20Raider%2080Plus%20Bronze%20450W
It does silver @115VAC, Gold @230VAC. Apparently Newegg has an error on their site, as the 450W NAXN only has one PCI-E connector.

Whether the case is ugly or not, it's a great case at a very low cost.
