I'm must be kind of lucky as GFWL has never messed up massively for me really. There was that one time in Arkham Asylum where it wouldn't let me sign in for like 5 minutes so I couldn't load my save which, admittedly, I wouldn't have had to deal with if it wasn't using GFWL but other than that it hasn't been too bad really.

Sure it's annoying to HAVE to login to the damn thing everyfuckingtime you want to play the game. But other than that it's not really there unless you get an achievement, which is the same thing for Steam anyways.

Steam isn't any different...
GFWL has never really bothered me, really. As long as you make it auto-login it's not too much of a hassle.
GFWL is surprisingly easy to use, I don't understand why people hate it so much, it's essentially the same as steam where it's barely noticeable in game, and the only time you really notice it is if you press Alt+Tab (Home for GFWL) to view friends and achievements and shit.

From what I've read and heard, I've been pretty lucky to not have run into a SINGLE problem.

While it is no different than Steam in that regard, having to use both Steam and GFWL for one title is stupid. I also had lots of issues with GFWL and its updates, as it wouldn't update all the way, so I had to keep relaunching the game for it to detect updates, close the game to install them, launch it to check...

I've never had any problems with the updating of games, sure it wasn't something to do with your internet?
The only issue I have with GFWL is how they hide creating an offline profile deep in a disclaimer.
Other than that I don't really have any problems with it.
