Hi everyone!
I just moved into my into my new apartment, and I'd like to show my neighbours what in my opinion is "good" music!
- So, I got my dads old Sony Speaker system from when I was crawling, but that doesn't mean it can't burst out some great bass and sound!
So, what I am asking for is, how would I be able to connect this to my PC, would I need to purchase anything or is there another trick?
As you can see I also need to get some new wires to the other Speakers, but what's the name for such wire?
- I don't know if I'd be able to install them either, but I know I always can come to you, if I need help :v:

In advance, I didn't know if this was the right board for asking for this kind of help, but I hope you'll be able to help me out!
Well, with a regular PC you'll only be able to use 3 of those speakers. Only one 3.5mm out for sub, right, and left. A sound card or possibly a better motherboard that supports 5.1 (your setup) with multiple 3.5mm jacks can get all of them working. But this would require some kind of way to change the connections from speaker wire to a 3.5mm connection. It also seems that they do not have a built in amp, which means they will require some kind of amplification device. Without one, the speakers either wont work at all or will have extremely quiet sound. The best way to solve your wire issue and not having an amp would be to get a home amplifier. Try to figure out the wattage and post it here. Then I'll try to find a cheaper amp that would suit your needs. Only shitty thing is that we're looking at $80-$150+ here
I would also remove the cover from the speakers and see if they have any dryrot. You have mentioned that they were old, and usually when speakers just sit, the surround tends to lose its structural integrity and kinda falls away.

I've got a bunch of wires to, if you'd like to see them.
I just removed the cover, everything looks good, I don't smell any humidity either. Thanks for letting me know.

Alright, so I think I've settled myself in it, but I only need an adapter I guess?

Yep. This is essentially what you're looking for: http://www.computercablestore.com/5_FT_Audio_Y_Splitter_Cab_PID457.aspx?gclid=CL_k8YaWirkCFYie4Aod5xMA-w
If you can find a different one then thats fine (that one is only half a foot, so the longer the better). It needs to be a 3.5mm MALE to RCA Female. Please be aware that with this you are only going to get at most 3 of your 5 speakers working. And that is if one is a subwoofer. Like I said, sub, left and right. But anyways, get that and you should be set.
But yeah, do please check for foam rot to make sure that they are even worth investing money into.
Thanks for helping me out man!
I really appreciate it! I'l' get that tomorrow!
- Just to be sure, that would be this?

Yep that would be it. Have you checked for foam rot yet?

Yeah, I've managed to find a Sony CD player, and connected it to the amp. Turned it up as much as I could, for about a minute. Nothing happen, luckily. I hoped that the price would be something like the website you've showen me, but they cost like 25 bucks in Denmark.
