• What motherboard drivers do I need to download?

I've just finished building a new computer and, after following this video, I have learnt that I need to download chipset, audio, USB and LAN drivers. The problem that I am faced with however is when I go to my motherboard's webpage (here) there are 7 different drivers and I'm not entirely sure which ones I need. They are as follows: Intel Management Engine Driver for P67/H67 Intel SandyBridge Chipset Driver Renesas USB3.0 Drivers Intel TPM Device Driver Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Drivers Realtek High Definition Audio Driver Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver I have bolded the ones that I think I need, and if they are the ones that I need then great, but what do the others do? Thanks very much. (It's an MSI P67A-GD53)
If you've got Windows 7 you don't need to download those in 90% of the cases, Windows installs them automatically.
That's awfully convenient. How will I know if they are installed or not? And even if they are, is it not good to update the drivers anyway?
If it starts up and has sound, they are installed. Windows7 usually carries the most updated/stable drivers for your device, but it doesn't hurt to install from the manufactures page.
If it starts up and has sound, they are installed.
They won't necessarily be up to date, or they could use Windows generic drivers. Either way, they won't be able to use the device to its full potential.
So should I download the drivers from the website anyway? If yes, then that brings me to my original question, which ones out of the ones I have listed do I need?
Check device manager to see which devices lack drivers. Should look like this if you got all drivers you need:
Get drivers from Windows Update
Should look like this if you got all drivers you need:
then do this. Any devices with warnings or errors, get from their websites.
Ok, thanks a lot guys.
