“I’m upset about there being a hole in my favorite sock instead.”
But if there wasn't a hole you can't put your foot in.
Good. It was kneejerk and I think it was childish of him not to wait before "cancelling" OR support.
"After this revelation, Notch gave a big sigh and went on vacation."
“I definitely want to be a part of VR, but I will not work with Facebook,” explained the Mojang founder. “Their motives are too unclear and shifting, and they haven’t historically been a stable platform. There’s nothing about their history that makes me trust them, and that makes them seem creepy to me.”
I don't blame him for thinking this, but he did react too quickly. All Facebook has done is throw money at the project and I'm not really sure how anyone can have a problem with that.
Notch is a fucking manchild. [editline]19th August 2014[/editline] I truly believe his kneejerk reaction made a lot of people lose interest in Oculus.

Just sit down and get over it Notch. It was a big deal what facebook did, but like the obvious, it hasn't brought anything with it. Oculus has a bigger budget than ever now and is gonna be more commercial affordable. If I didn't know better, I'd say it was just an excuse for Notch to take a vacation without his Minecraft fans raging about the lack of updates ever happening.

(which Palmer Luckey of Oculus also frequented, and other Oculus employees) There was like a 90% increase in viewers there and all of them were furious. I was mad at first, but without Facebook or another major company buying them out they would never be as far as they would be now. They can do deals with Samsung for their screens, and they might even go 1440p on the consumer kit. The money injection also allowed them to hire the best people in the VR field, like 3 from Valve and the legendary John Carmack himself.

I never really cared all that much for Oculus Except for Arma Shits gonna be AMAZING in Arma
Fun-fact: John Carmack immediately offered to port Minecraft to the Rift: https://twitter.com/ID_AA_Carmack/status/501100463341596672
I never really cared all that much for Oculus Except for Arma Shits gonna be AMAZING in Arma
Arma has one hell of a leap in performance to make though (constant 90 fps at >1080p res under all conditions is required). Plus being able to see details in the distance is very important in milsims, which is not a strong point of the Rift at this time (probably not until we see 4K displays).
Notch gets upset about many things.

Still the whole head steering business sounds sweet with the oculus.

I suppose we all imagined VR Cow Clickers at the time.

Few people seem to remember Oculus had already acquired about $100m in prior investing rounds. After FB bought them, they actually had less people to answer to.
According to Palmer Luckey from Oculus, Notch hadn't even begun working on bringing Minecraft to the Oculus in the first place.
That post doesn't explain anything about whether or not mojang's motives. He said himself he didn't started it [editline]19th August 2014[/editline] cant into form sentence
Their motives are too unclear and shifting, and they haven’t historically been a stable platform. How in gods name can notch say that haha
Does anyone even still cares about what Notch has to say
