Pirating indie games just seems wrong to me.
It doesn't exactly help that I can only use Google Checkout to buy the fucking thing and that my question about using Paypal never got answered.

Actually He's trustworthy since the devs recommended him if you didn't have Google Checkout.
It still seems like a shitty way of doing business. Not that you should pirate the damn game because of it.

They released a public demo. Pirating the game is useless now.
This doesn't sound dodgy at all.
It's how I got the game. He's legit.
The day I buy the game the alpha is down. Fuck. [editline]20th June 2011[/editline] At least there is a demo so I can get the hang of it. :smug:
“These ‘auto updating’ versions of the game could screw us completely. We have a cloud based distribution model, where the files are copied all over the world and are served to players on request, which means we are charged money for people downloading the game.”
oh man that sucks. I hope they find a way to fix that, or get an alternative distribution method
It's not like the game is worth pirating yet but that sucks
Huh, you'd think that the pirates who made the auto-updating version would back down considering that they are grinding development to a halt at the moment. [editline]20th June 2011[/editline] Maybe crackers are bigger assholes than we thought?
With all this shit happening to them, I doubt they will continue developing.
With all this shit happening to them, I doubt they will continue developing.
Uh, the developers are still hard at work and they aren't going to give up because of a problem like this.

I honestly feel really bad for them and their luck, it seems they are getting fucked over every single way that can be physically possible.
:regd08:
maybe the devs should have released the first alpha for free on a free hosting site
That's both stupid and unprofessional. They're not some unofficial underground kiddie who makes games in their free time.
I think the problem is that the game is so early in development, many people just aren't willing to pay for it. There was no way to try is out and see if you like it, where as a game like Minecraft had Creative and the very early version of Survival before it became Alpha.

The ones who pirated the game with intentions to update it would never buy it even if there was a demo anyway.
It is EIGHT FUCKING DOLLARS, holy shit pirates are cheap. Give an indie dev a break.

And there was no indication of when a demo would come out. And you have to consider how much of a big deal so many people make over things like pre-orders and such and not wanting to pay for a game until they know if its good.

Devs didn't give a shit if you pirated or not. The problem rose when pirates wanted an always up to date version.
