The arrogance. Xbox One and Switch better pick up fast. I hate it when Sony becomes arrogant whenever they have success.

There's been a heavy anti-microsoft sentiment for a while now since the whole always on scandal, but I can't imagine why anyone honestly believed sony didn't do the same out of the goodness of their hearts. They've had homes raided over modding, released products across many different divisions loaded with spyware, leaked millions of people's personal information passwords and payment information due to intentionally being lazy about security vulnerabilities, and god knows how much else I'm forgetting. They're honestly one of the most anti-consumer companies I can think of
The future of online multi-player on consoles is cross play. You can't delay this forever, Sony.
Maybe they realized they need to fix their fucking network security before letting more attack vectors reveal themselves
nah, the literal reasoning is "think of the children" so far (at least with minecraft, the only game they've commented on)
Which is an excuse that makes them look really stupid when even "friend code" Nintendo is opening up to cross-platform play.

Not to mention the just-as-terrible community that the PS4 has even in its own segmented ecosystem.
A part of me is under the mentality that Sony's unknowingly doing Microsoft a favour. Personally, i've had some very terrible experiences with Playstation fans on the internet. Not too sure if it's a good idea to have those personalities bleed over across other userbases.

funny how microsoft weren't interested in crossplay when they were the dominant platform
"Greatness Awaits" my ass
jim sterling's take on this in jimquisition was p.accurate i feel
one of the big three gets the lead (sony in this case), does a load of anti-consumer bullshit, falls behind and craters, someone else takes the lead, does the same
the cycle goes on

Monopoly. It sucks which is why we always need good competition.

IMO Sony has been doing that for a while, at least in PR terms
Sony announced that everyone would have to buy their PS2 games a third time on PS4 a few months after Microsoft announced backwards compatibility for Xbox One.
Now OG Xbox game supoprt is also coming to the Xbone, most likely supporting many of the same games that Sony is selling on the PlayStation Store.
There's also the whole modding fiasco.

Funnily enough that's exactly what the first GFWL game was.
