• removing swfdec

I accidentally installed swfdec instead of Adobe Flash and now I'm in a jam where ubuntu does not see it (and installing and uninstalling the package does not remove it) but firefox does and even if I install Adobe flash, it insists on using swfdec which is balls-to-the-wall shit. How the hell do I remove it? I see a Shockwave Flash plugin but I can only enable or disable it, not remove it.
im not 100 percent familiar with debian based linux (red-hat i prefer) but i would say use your software manager (apt-get i think) and uninstall it there. if that doesent work uninstall firefox and re-install it.
Well I already tried installing and then uninstalling using apt and that was a no go. I guess I'll backup my bookmarks and try reinstalling firefox. [editline]07:43AM[/editline] Looks like firefox is installed as a dummy package....or I wasn't doing it right. Anyways, while in the pachage manager I searched for swfdec-mozilla and it saw it and I removed it and after restarting firefox it reverted back to good old flash. Problem fixed.
