John McAfee, who started the antivirus software giant named after him, has been accused of murder in Belize, Gizmodo reported today.
According to the report, McAfee is wanted by Belize's Gang Suppression Unit in the murder of American expat Gregory Paul.
Police in Belize say that Paul, a popular builder, was shot Saturday night. "The two men had been at odds for some time," Gizmodo wrote. "Last Wednesday, Paul filed a formal complaint against McAfee with the mayor's office, asserting that McAfee had fired off guns and exhibited 'roguish behavior.' Their final disagreement apparently involved dogs."
Gizmodo also reported that McAfee's relationships with other expats in Belize had been deteriorating and that he was thought to be associating with some of Belize's "most notorious gangsters." He may also have been struggling with the effects of drugs. McAfee had taken to "posting on a drug-focused Russian message board...about his attempts to purify the psychoactive compounds colloquially known as 'bath salts,'" Gizmodo wrote.
"Writing under the name 'stuffmonger,' a handle [McAfee] used on other online message boards, [he] posted more than 200 times over the next nine months about his ongoing quest to purify psychoactive drugs from compounds commercially available over the Internet," Gizmodo reported. "'I'm a huge fan of MDPV,' he wrote. 'I think it's the finest drug ever conceived, not just for the indescribable hypersexuality, but also for the smooth euphoria and mild comedown.'"
This isn't the first time that McAfee has had run-ins with police in Belize. In May, the security software pioneer was booked on drug charges there.
He should be charged for holding the millions of computers that have it installed hostage. :v:
Accused.
"Mcafee, I think you better reconsider your deal..."
"Not before you reinstall my Anti-Virus."

'John McAfee' sounds like a loose cannon cop who doesn't play by the rules
Didn't Intel buy out McAfee 2 years ago for like, 7 billion dollars?
Conspiracy!
I wonder if anyone has actually voluntarily installed McAfee, seeing as it comes preinstalled on Dells.
Renew or we will send you viruses.
I wonder what he was on when he coded McAfee
I use Norton personally....
I use Norton personally....
Makes quite alot of sense since a damn lot of people wants to murder him for his terrible antivirus.
hopefully this is just a false positive
False positives can't be taken out of quarantine by 'consumers', you'll have to file a report and hope they flag it as a legit file somewhere between three and thirty years from now.
Im an AVG fan anyways
The viruses set him up.

Common sense is the best antivirus. Contrary to popular belief there are not several horny lonely teenagers in your neighborhood that need you of all people to "help" them.
Being the millionth visitor isn't anything special either and for the love of god don't take the torrent files at the top of the page that say "Exactly what you typed in the search bar [FULL]".

My dad used it back in the late 90's but back then it was still pretty good.
New Norton is somewhat better than it used to be. New McAfee is terrible

How the fuck do you know you don't have any viruses?
A good virus is one that isn't noticed.
And what about a drive by virus, or flash drives?
You are one hell of an idiot.
