That's pretty disturbing as a generalization.
It will sway the folks who don't know any better, and have no understanding of Islam.. but, it's still a pretty dark proclamation none-the-less.

Someone always in the public eye and representing a political party shouldn't joke about anything that could be considered offensive, it's common sense
