I remember this, it's a great read
Wow, what a read. It's good to see that there's even a limit of how much of an asshole you can be before everyone set their differences aside and go together only to fuck that person over.
That was a really good read. I have a soft spot for "even evil has standards" type plots where villains (briefly) become heroes. I also continue to be amazed at the kind of crazy stuff that's possible in eve. Trapping new players as "slaves" in foreign language territory? Man that's evil. I wonder why so many new players stayed tho. Did they just think this is how EvE works? Did they only gradually get lulled into shittier and shittier conditions? Was there Sunk Cost Fallacy involved despite them not earning that much?

All these noobs were lured in and conditioned to think that this was EVE, and if you wanted to have fun you had to put in your time, and that this asshole was the best way to do that. They had zero contact with anybody that could tell them differently and so they thought that was just the way it was.
