I'd suggest looking into the "Dboys" line of AKs. They have some of the best clone AKs you can get, apart from CYMA.
Get a CYMA 035A or DBoys RK-01

U is for the Russian word for shortened. The correct name of the gun is AKS-74U. The S is for the folding stock.
So pretty much an AK74U is a AK Beta Spetsnaz.
Which isn't a real gun. Also I think the Spetz has a shorter handguard and barrel or something.

Don't want to sound like a pompous ass but I'm gonna set things straight:
AK-74: Soviet Gas Operated selective fire assault rifle based off of the AK-47, and fires 5.45mm rifle rounds
AKS-74: Exact same as AK-74 but wood stock has been replaced by a sidefolsing skeleton stock, issued to paratroopers.
AKS-74U: AKS-74 that has been redesigned to be much shorter. Hanguards shortened, gas block and front sight combined, rear sight simplified, and new flashider added. Uses the same mags and ammo as the AK-74 (So by definition it is NOT an SMG) and has the same stock as an AKS-74.
AKS-74UN: An AKS-74U with a mounting bracket on the left side of the reciever for mounting night vision optics. Basically whenever you bolt a NV bracket to an AK you add an N to the end of the name (IE: AK-74N, AKS-74N)
"AK Beta Spetnaz": Fictional gun created by Tokyo Marui airsoft manufacturer. Kind of sad because Infinity Ward modeled the "AK-74u" after a Beta Spetsnaz in CoD 4.
And if you're looking for a cheap full metal AKS-74U, either Dboys or CYMA. I have a CYMA, cost $135 USD, Full metal, Real wood, ~375 FPS, great performance for a clone, clone quality externals but hey at least it's metal and not plastic, overall a really good weapon for the price.
