We are retarded
I'm surprised they haven't banned fun in Australia yet. Whats the deal with Aus's game classifications?
fuck my country
I'm surprised they haven't banned fun in Australia yet. Whats the deal with Aus's game classifications?
Yeah totally, because the only way games can be fun is to glorify drug use.
well now every australian who wants to play it will now just pirate it or import it good work screwing over local business!
I think they should never bend to the whim of the Australian Government. It sends the message that they can get special treatment for their country. Do what Rebellion did. Also what's the fuck of having this rating if things are just going to keep being blocked, what a bunch of assholes.
Saints Row IV is so far removed from reality you might as well ban Popeye for his oh-yeah-definitely-spinach powerups.
the computer game Saints Row IV is classified Refused Classification
Also I really don't get why people actually talk like that, it's like a computer program was told to say "<game> is classified <classification>" and thus unable to tell what it says sounds retarded in context.
Also what's the fuck of having this rating if things are just going to keep being blocked, what a bunch of assholes.
Because games that were getting released as 18+ in other countries were being released as MA15+ here until we got the R18+ rating. Having the R18+ rating ensures that certain games receive the rating that they should have.
I'm pretty sure Australia isn't full of pusses. It's just a group of bigshots going "Sorry, mates, but we can't letcha play this 'ere game. Is got blood innit!" and ruining the fun for everyone. Or however video game rating classification works down under.

Haha, there is nothing more I can do than just laugh at how fucking stupid this is.
Well off to get a import, thanks for business australia
Obviously you're putting it to good use.
We are, because glorifying drug use is stupid and until that is removed from the game it should be refused classification. I have no problem with the decision made.
We are, because glorifying drug use is stupid and until that is removed from the game it should be refused classification. drugs are actually really cool you're probably a square
drugs are actually really cool you're probably a square
Mexalen is the most fun you could have on a Friday.
So rather than just putting the R18+ rating it's supposed to get, you should just ban it entirely because you don't agree with drug use in a game. K.
I'm not saying I don't agree with drug use. My problem, and indeed the Classification Review Board's problem is this:
Despite Volition removing their offending anal probe from the recesses of the game, the resubmission of the game was refused for tying drug use to incentives and rewards. Something that was mentioned during the first examination of the game.
Replace drug use with alcohol or tabacco consumption and it would have still been banned anyways, and that would be justified.
So if i create a game in which i play a doctor that can give patients drugs to help them in any way, does that game glorify drugs since the drugs are being used in a positive way?
whenever i toke up i get +5 pimp points and +2 swag stamina sorry ant dog your point is moot
I'm not saying I don't agree with drug use. My problem, and indeed the Classification Review Board's problem is this: Replace drug use with alcohol or tabacco consumption and it would have still been banned anyways, and that would be justified.
First off, "tying drug use to incentives" is insanely vauge. There is no detail on what the actual rewards are. It could be like this one mission thing or the drug drop collectables in SR3. Second, you're saying they should ban a game for rewarding not excessive violence, not foul language, not sexual content, but rewarding drug use in which you have no idea what the actual reward is. It's retarded.
Yeah totally, because the only way games can be fun is to glorify drug use.
what does that comment even mean
what's the point of an r rating if you're going to treat it how you treated MA before and still not allow the same type of games you always didn't allow
Guessing they're treating R18 as the new MA15. But yeah, the classification board is fucked. I guess getting drugs is more offensive than ripping someone's spine out a la Mortal Kombat 9??

Don't ask me why, I think it's bloody stupid mate.
It's fair dinkum how us Aussies start talking Aussie in an Aussie thread. Cunt.
American friend preordered it for me on Steam. Wonder what'll happen.
When they first refused giving it a classification for the "rape", it confused the hell out of me because Duke Nukem: Forever had a rape scene that had no context. But i guess it wasn't the player doing it, so it must of be OK.
the rape in dnf was just heavily implied, you didn't see the girls actually get raped that said, dead rising off the record did the exact same thing as sr3 and it got classification so lel
Ironically, Dead Rising: Off The Record had no context and got passed, whilst Saints Row IV did have some context, and got banned. Are the people rating games bi-polar or something?
STOP RIGHT THERE AUSTRALIAN SCUM NOBODY HAS FUN ON MY WATCH
