need a nice power supply for this build, the one i have right now (Thermaltake TR2-500W) is being a piece of shit and i don't wanna risk it. so can you guys show me a reputable power supply that fits my budget right now? i don't really know much about reputable power supply brands besides everyone going "omg corsair", so yeah. $60 is my budget, but i could push a little higher i guess. i'd prefer buying from either newegg or amazon. thanks.
I would go with either this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028 or if you want a modular PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139050 They're both on sale right now, so they are pretty good choices ion my opinion. And yes, I do realize I have just "omg-corsair'ed," but to be fair they do make pretty good PSUs.
not saying there's anything wrong with corsair, just that's the only brand i keep hearing and i was interested in finding out about other brands that are pretty good. will definitely consider one of those. i'm gonna order something no matter what tomorrow.
ocz zt/zx series, pc power & cooling (ocz oem), rosewill capstone/hive/fortress (superflower oem i think), seasonic, xfx/corsair/nzxt hale 82 series (all seasonic oem except for corsair cx/hx/tx-m i'm pretty sure). just naming a few, look around and make sure to check reviews on stuff before you buy it, you can find really in depth stuff on most units on sites like hardwaresecrets, johnnyguru and techpowerup. you can get a lot better quality than the cx for mostly the same price before sales like what are on right now. [editline]29th July 2013[/editline] won't find much through seasonic directly at your price range but there are some 450w and 550w xfx units that are pretty much the exact same thing for cheaper [editline]29th July 2013[/editline] here are a few, and obviously the corsairs listed above are solid contenders too the pc power and cooling has a 15% off code so i listed it too
Went with the CX600. Let's hope I don't have to end up doing an RMA... thanks guys for the help.
