they better be big updates, like city of heroes or eve had.

You remember Surrow's Furnace, the Heroes update? I expect stuff like that, nothing major. I expect the Crystal Desert to be a paid expansion
Free kodan playable race 2012
Hmm, thinking about getting this.
How much is it going for in EU/is it worth it?
Since D3 has let me down big time, and wow is a joke, I'm finding it hard to get my MMO fix, from CS:GO and BM:S.
Also, I'm playing on a year old laptop, would it still be worth it?
GW2 is a ton of fun.
It's CPU/GPU heavy so make sure your laptop matches up rather well.
Considering you can get stuff like the Special Edition Upgrade in game I'm pretty inclined to think you'll be able to buy the expansions with in game cash. (You buy Gems with real cash for the cash shop, but you can trade them to players for in game gold.)

You don't trade gold for gems to players. But there is however the currency exchange where exchange rates fluctuate according to players buying and exchanging gold to gems and vice versa.
I do hope they make expansions on the personal story though. Just keep away from the risen, though. The game slowly turned into a zombie-slaying-fest.
I just hope they make purchasable expansions in general. Definitely upkeeping servers and wages to create content wont make GW2 last as long like WoW has, where I have played that for years and somewhat still enjoy it.

Bad reading, there doing micro transactions. In this gaming era, that's pretty smart for an MMO.

You ever play any of the original Guild Wars? They passed out free content like mad.
i heard this game have kinda boring late game, theres nothing to do.

More than most MMOs launch with. We're just all used to playing old games with fattened up end-games.
i heard this game have kinda boring late game, theres nothing to do.
pretty much
i got bored shortly after hitting 80, and from what i've seen a lot of other people are saying the game
it's a very good game, but once you hit like level 60 or so it starts to go downhill because you fight the same exact enemy (which is also the most annoying enemy because they're all super fast, all have immobs, and all do lots of damage)
and the very last dungeon where you kill the "main boss" of the game is really bad, it feels uncompleted , overall i think the end game was rather rushed because everything up to that point is awesome
Arenanet has a habit of announcing things they do in their game or as a part of their business strategies that other games companies have done for years and pushing it as innovative and "responsible".
That being said, free shit is free shit, and I'll gladly play it.
Soooooo... They're doing what ever other MMO has done since the beginning of time? Does something like that even need to be announced anymore?
For now when I hit max level the explorable mode of dungeons, PvP, and long-term equipment and crafting goals should keep me busy for quite a while I expect.
However I'm hoping that it takes me long enough that they release some new content within that time. College has me going at a basically nonexistent pace right now.
Got to respect ARENANET!
Got to respect ARENANET!
For doing nothing new or amazing? Because expansions won't be free.

Yes, the circlejerk has to be fueled.
Got to respect ARENANET!
Please tell me you're joking...
Guild Wars 2 is pretty awesome, arenanet did a great job.
The amount of content in this game is amazing and more will come, can't fucking wait!
i heard this game have kinda boring late game, theres nothing to do.
The main point of the Guild Wars series has always been PvP. Going in to GW and expecting lots of PvE content is a mistake. Granted, GW2 has more of it than GW1...
So far in this thread everybody that's placed a negative comment or rating has come from the WoW megathread. How interesting.

I haven't seen very much negative about Guild Wars in this thread. I can start, though this really isn't the place.
I said some good things about GW2 and I get boxes from WoW fanboys
