Regardless of what people say, CoD is super successful. The people that play it don't want/need to buy a £600 PC, just a £150 console, it is easy to get the hang of and great fun if your looking to run, gun, kill and die loads.
definitely won't be picking this up after my terrible, terrible experience with MW2 and how bored I am of military shooters in general.
Ehh, I'll wait 3 days.

This. I don't like it because it's not my sort of game and honestly, I'd say the only valid complaint is the story.

I don't have a problem with the game itself. I just have a problem with their pricing model where they expect $60 every year plus like $45 for DLC.
It was this or Skyrim and that's a pretty easy choice to be honest.
Skyrim has 200% more beard.

I'm not exactly a fan, as i have said, a few times in threads like this, of cod, it's userbase, it's outrageous budget - content ratio, etc, etc.
Despite this, i went ahead about bought it on steam. I mean, its something great to keep me busy between my rage fests in bf3 and the wait for skyrim. I can hate just as much as anyone else here, but i can also put all that gaming politics aside and just enjoy a decent damn game too.
And so it begins...

As much as I'd agree that ArmA is probably the definitive modern warfare game, it does have niche appeal.
