Vreel.net - The new Stage6 ?

Hey guys!

Apparently this new site uses the same streaming technology and player as our beloved stage6 used to. The DivX stuff.

However, there still are some problems, some videos take a good while to connect, some are timing out.
Still, it is a god way to show off your videos without the crappy youtube compression.

[highlight]The connection takes about 1 or 2 minutes! (at least for me sitting in Europe. Wait for that! The Buffering is fast!

Been following it's progress since 2nd May.

It's still really bug and has a lot of problems.
Lots of layout problems and so on, but it's good.

I even got the highest postcount on their forum.

Also the loading issues for the movies now are not Vreel's fault.

It's limelight's fault.

Play in windowed mode.

Videos are stretched if you watch them in normal webplayer mode.

So low-res videos looks like shit and becomes out of proportion.

And how will you store the videos and pay the extreme bills for your gigs of bandwidth being eating?

Vreel has been public for soon a month and has had about 500TB bandwidth being eaten.

I'm in Europe and it takes less than a second.

They currently only got uploading servers in America.

But those who lives in America has managed to get a 600 kb/s upload speed.

I've managed 108 kb/s at max, usually around 70 kb/s.

Now I'm at 40 kb/s

Veoh is nice and certainly bigger, but this one has a slightly better quality.
Well, depends on the uploaded video.

Veoh has blocked access for over 120 countries because of lack of activity from those countries. (It's quite incredible that Norway hasn't been blocked)

And the quality sucks ass compared to Vreel.

When Vreel get's stable and get's a good community it'll kick ass.

I just watched the hi-def trailer for Hancock. A few stutters aside, I'm amazed that quality like that is found in a stream through the Internet.
