George Lucas has already written the live-action Star Wars TV show
Just when you thought George Lucas couldn't ruin Star Wars any more than he already had, he goes and reveals he's already scripted 50 hours of a potential live-action TV show.
Concerned Star Wars fans needn't get too worried just yet, though: technological hold-ups means the long-rumoured TV series is still far, far away.
Lucas told US pay TV channel G4TV that he's waiting for "a different type of technology" to emerge, so he can shoot a TV series that looks as good as a movie without breaking the budget. He didn't specify exactly what technology he means — only that it's a "very, very difficult process".
So it sounds like George is planning on cramming the TV series with the same CGI overload that worked so well for the Star Wars prequel films.
The Star Wars live-action TV show has been kicking around for years: Lucas first confirmed development on the series in 2007, revealing it would be set between the films Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
I would watch the first episode and judge from there.
CGI...CGI everywhere
lol Star Wars already has TV shows.
As long as it has Jar Jar Binks light-saber fighting Yoda on a planet made of explosions.
You know, to keep it up to George Lucas' level.
Need ourselves another Christmas special.
Yoda? Do you know where Vader put the ice cream?

Maybe he learnt from his mistakes in the past.

Not possible.
George the fact you refuse to release the theatrical versions of the original trilogy on blu ray means you will get none of my money on unless there is a good Star Wars game and after just watching Star Wars Kinect I don't think that is any time soon

Another? There was never a first. It never happened.
That isn't the real George Lucas.

I think thats the 3D, digitally "remastered (re-ruined)" version.

Its the re-released ones with the pointless extra scenes and shitty CGI and greedo shooting first it's not like they couldn't fit both version on blu-ray but no George doesn't like them because people interfered with his vision and actually made good movies

They aren't even doing anything to the original trilogy when they release on Blu-Ray other than improve the quality and add a scene explaining why R2-D2 magically had a lightsaber in him.
You guys need to stop being so whiny.
I know there's a whole bunch of shitty things that have happened to the Star Wars series through re-releases, but it's not like they ruined the movie at all. 'Oh no, they made Greedo shoot first,' 'Oh no, they made a CGI scene with more Jabba dialogue.' Both of these lasted about five minutes combined and that's it. And the prequels aren't nearly as bad as they are said to be. Everyone claims they are some of the worst films ever made just because of their mediocre stories.
tl;dr - Grow the fuck up.

I don't remember a single one since the 2004 DVD release of the originals.

um ok?
by "stop making stupid alterations" we also mean stop rereleasing the movies with stupid alterations and just remaster the theatrical versions
Oh God....
"I wish Valve would stop patching Portal 2, it's a great game and needs to be left with its bugs and current features intact"
Except this is even less annoying because you don't actually have to buy the new versions! What a concept!

What?
How does that make any sense? Are you somehow suggesting that patching video games and releasing movies are in any way similar?
Someone just put Lucas out of his misery already, we're talking about ruining the childhood of a couple of generations here.

Yeah, like letting someone else direct.

Wait, what? Magically? Isn't it implied that Luke placed it in him and had him infiltrate Jabba's base so they could rescue Han? I mean it's pretty straight forward.
