The deadliest and most advanced weapons in the world are currently being displayed for top military brass at a conference centre in east London. The Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) weapons conference at the ExCeL centre is the largest arms fair on the planet, featuring state-of-the-art vehicles, firearms, protective equipment and communications technology. I wish this was available to the public. I live right near there.
I wish this was available to the public. I live right near there.
I don't live anywhere close but I'd still go.
No matter what type of convention, there's always some really impressive cosplayers
9 / 10 The dictator outfits are almost perfect.
I wish this was available to the public. I live right near there.
It's not a entertainment convention like E3 or comicon or something, it's an arms fair, it's not really something the public should be involved in.
I'd love to walk around that place...
Seeing as guns are pretty much 100% illegal here in the UK aside from some shotguns for hunting/pest control, I can't imagine what the security/police presence there must be like
If anyone wish to see what goes on in these conventions:

What's so bad about it? He's like.. having the gun in his hand. I don't see how that's bad handling in particular.
What's so bad about it? He's like.. having the gun in his hand. I don't see how that's bad handling in particular.
finger in the trigger guard although he could be intending to dry fire it and get a feel for the trigger pull, in which case he'd be justified
What's so bad about it? He's like.. having the gun in his hand. I don't see how that's bad handling in particular.
Finger on the trigger. Basic safety rules, don't have your finger on the trigger unless you're prepared to fire (and yes, while it is at a gun show and thus shouldn't be loaded, another rule is to never assume a weapon isn't loaded.)
It's not a entertainment convention like E3 or comicon or something, it's an arms fair, it's not really something the public should be involved in.
I don't know about you but I find this a whole lot more interesting than E3 or Comicon.
6/10 no activision booth.

There's a reason his finger's on the trigger.
Just buy a generic dress uniform dress it up a bit, then sign in as a Micronation that know one has ever heard of :v:.

I mean, the people attending this event probably twist and rustle these guns in every which way, like pulling the slide etc. So even if there happened to be a loaded gun, we will probably be hearing about it very soon..
I don't know about you but I find this a whole lot more interesting than E3 or Comicon.
You're not the target audience though.

Which is probably very likely.
0/10 lack of booth babes. Even Lord of War had booth babes
Maybe he checked to see if it was loaded before that photo was taken. Which is probably very likely.
You're not supposed to even if you've checked. One of the first things someone who's accidentally shot someone will often say after shooting is "But it wasn't loaded!"
east London
Not surprising.
0/10 lack of booth babes. Even Lord of War had booth babes
Is that a LMG in your pants or are you just happy to see me?
It's not a entertainment convention like E3 or comicon or something, it's an arms fair, it's not really something the public should be involved in.
There are many reasons for why the public aren't allowed in, the sheer fact its an arms fair isn't the reason. I am guessing the experience would be on par with what I experienced at Farnborough airshow a few years back before they closed the trade halls at the weekend. Cruise missile mock-ups with sales literature next to them. Very weird.
That looks fantastic.
Also two companies were ejected yesterday for trying to sell "illegal weapons". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24058609
I wonder if they give out a complimentary AUG Wings and FAMAS Doomkitty to each attendee.
Seeing as guns are pretty much 100% illegal here in the UK aside from some shotguns for hunting/pest control, I can't imagine what the security/police presence there must be like
Wrong. It is possible to get a firearms permit in addition to a shotgun license, and legal to own certain pistols and rifles with said permit. It's just a fair amount of effort. Shotgun licenses are comparatively easy to get, it's more of a "why not" than a "why", and membership and participation at shooting ranges is a permitted reason for owning them. Main thing that bugs me is the law change a few years back that made you need a license to get deactivated firearms. There were some awesome deactivated Makarov PMms, along with nearly every WW2 weapon you could name at War and Peace, if you had the cash.
