And by the looks of it, the device produces some pretty cool results. Technically, the system consists of: 7-inch LCD DVD/CD player USB/SD card slot 5.1ch center speaker Bluetooth AR scouter mode Obviously, the so-called AR scouter mode is the most interesting feature: the system “augments reality” by identifying cars, traffic lights, streets and other objects in the real world to help guide you through traffic (the camera has to be installed on the windshield and connects to the AVIC-VH09CS wirelessly). For example, in the picture below, the system superimposes a Lawson convenience store (on the left, in blue) with a “3DCG” to make it easier to spot. Now they need to turn the windshield into a screen so we don't need to shift focus to get the info.
and needs less shit displayed. It shouldn't distract from actual driving.
It's got that typical crazy ass Japanese HUD.
Where's the damage display? I want to know how much damage bashing into all that railing is doing to my car.
What is with Japan and bevelling + arrows?
What is with Japan and bevelling + arrows?
They must think it looks good or something... Imagine that!

My vision is augmented.
My dad used to work at Pioneer a year ago before it started going to hell, and he says that the major problem with Japanese products converting to western economy is that the japanese's idea of a good HUDs and systems is very, very different. You wouldn't believe the stuff they put into them. The process literally takes years in some cases.
