Right now, I have this in my gaming rig:

Would it be advantageous of me to purchase another 4GB of this? All this is really used for is gaming.
4GB RAM
Save up your 75$ on something else better
Hm...SLI video cards? Or is that pointless nowadays?
SLI is more of a "later option". Also, I would get 8 just because the price is so low right now.
4GB is enough

Not like it's going to jump way up, it's not gas...lol
4gb
My rig had 4GB and it was more than enough. I usually still have about 1300MB of free ram.
and everyone knows. Free ram = wasted ram.

I agree.
I really don't think that's needed at the moment.
Besides, I'd prefer 6GB if my motherboard supported triple channel.

It's better to stick with base 10. Ex. 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc...Almost every programmer I know agrees with me.

I'd do this
Stick with 4gb, my brother's computer has a 6gb RAM and seriously has 2gb of empty RAM, so 8gb would probably have way too much extra.
I do 6gb since my system tips about to 3gb, you could just spend that 75$ later when you think you need that 8gb
Only get 8 if you want to do some really RAM-heavy processes, i.e. modeling/rendering, video editing, etc.

Nope, just gaming, little bit of Photoshop...
Then 4.
4 is fairly enough
4GB is good.
16 would be perfect
6 is a good in between.
Only if your motherboard/CPU supports triple channel

See my above argument against 6.
Yeah, I have 4GB on my computer and I only ever ran out of RAM once.
That was my fault because I wanted to experiment with running without a pagefile. :v:

Ouch :P
Even then, it only ran out while playing EVE Online. I think if I had 6 GB I could run with no pagefile.

that isn't an argument that's the mindset of people with outdated, pre-triple channel RAM knowledge.
Get enough RAM so you don't need to use pagefile as it's really low for big ammount of data.
Got 6Gb in triple channel myself and it's nice to run W7 Ultimate 64bit without pagefile.
4GB is fine for what your doing.
only slightly slower load times in CS5

Thats not base 10.. base 10 is just "normal" number counting, it goes 1,2,3,4,5,6 ect. you mean 2^n numbers , which are 1, 2, 4, 8, 16
