It does look way worse than the original. What's with the redux versions being worse lately. Like the "remaster" of the Arkham games on PS4 looking like shit compared to the originals
I guess the word "redux" comes from "reduce" and not latin "reducere" (bring back):

I wish this was a fuckin joke but after the Arkham collection, I know that people are just that incompetent.

Wow that sucks. Usually bad remasters look like someone with poor photoshop skills just cranked up the contrast and such
What really bothers me is the fucking sway. It's nausea-inducing, it was slightly present in the original but just having it overblown makes it look awkward.

This looks like a mobile game

Redux looked just like the top image when I got there. There are issues with the graphics but they haven't downgraded it just there's a shit ton of bugs.
Shit screenshot but you can see the sun-shafts and lighting looking same as the original image. I wasn't even running it at max graphics either.

My only real complaint is the lack of decent AA and a few misaligned textures.

You can turn it off in the options.

How
Wonder how much this has to do with Redux being a console port of Hard Reset, with some changes to be a !!!NEW RELEASE!!! for the Xbone parity-clause.
[sp]All of it.[/sp]
just looking at this video they even mess up the viewmodel, the idle weapon sway looks stuttery and in full motion constantly while the original is more smooth and relaxed which is perfect for idle animations

I'm getting pretty sick of the trend of "reduxing" games that are only a few years old and trying to market them as something much more than what they really are, which is at the most a free update like it should have been in the first place (or even a downgrade if the studio/publisher is incompetent enough).
There's no reason this can't be done in incremental updates over time or even at once later on, you know like it always has been up until recently.
Wow, I regret paying 3€ for the upgrade honestly. How could they fuck it up so badly?
From what I'm reading from comments and reviews they improved the gameplay but messed the graphics.
So it's a gameplay vs graphics deal here.
The original Hard Reset was made as a PC exclusive, so I'm not surprised it looks better in some cases than this redux.. For now anyway.
I have no idea what sort of gameplay improvements besides giving us a futuristic blade (Which looks like they just imported the sword in Shadow Warrior 2013 in sound and animation). I saw some new human-looking enemies in that trailer too, but besides that, not sure what else I could look forward to.
I enjoyed Hard Reset, but it's a pretty short game, it's a miracle that I really took my time with it and managed to get 25 hours from the game, which is still pretty low compared to everything else. Even at 3 dollars, I still don't think it's worth getting at a reduced price.
Those idle animations are horrifying.
I was going to get a refund, but noticed that they added the original game to my library as well. So that's original and redux for 3 moneys. Nice.
the gameplay is improved slightly thankfully, but honestly hard reset wasn't an incredible game to begin with and adding the dash from shadow warrior doesn't really help the problem that the guns don't feel good to fire and that it's not really satisfying to shoot robots that just crumple up when you break them

Some of them I'm okay with because they were right at the end of an old console's lifespan.
For example: The Last of Us Remastered. I'm perfectly okay with it, because it was right at the end of the PS3's life and TLOUR opens it up to the PS4.

Apparently they made the game far more fair, getting rid of bulletsponge enemies and giving you a dash make attack avoidance do-able.

I agree. It just wasn't fun to destroy the robots. It could have been fun if you blow off pieces of their armor or their limbs like in Binary Domain but instead it felt more like I was shooting a boiler with a bb gun until it malfunctioned
How do you fuck up this badly lmao
