Last night ( 11-20-09 ) Daron Malakian, John Dolmayan and Shavo Odadjian got together to be apart of a benefit auction in Hollywood, CA at The Avalon for a benefit show. This event was to help for Chi Cheng from The Deftones who has been in a coma for a year now. In help, John is auctioning his signed drum kit, Serj is auctioning his signed poetry book, signed poster and a limited edition solo record of his. Daron is auctioning his signed Gibson guitar and signed picks of is.
This week Deftones has launched a benefit auction in support of their bassist and brother Chi Cheng.
Chi has been in a semi-conscious state since being involved in a horrific car accident in November 2008, and his family has accumulated an overwhelming amount of medical bills that insurance does not entirely cover.
It is Deftones’ mission to raise significant funds to help ensure Chi's recovery by launching this benefit auction in conjunction with their management Velvet Hammer Music and Management Group, and in association with CharityBuzz.com.
In support of this mission, System of a Down have donated Exclusive Autographed Items from Serj Tankian, John Dolmayan, and Daron Malakian on which you can now bid, on this website:

I liked a few of their songs. Will probably listen to them more if their stuff was more like "Aerials" or that one song where he just said cocaine crazy a lot that I can't remember the name of right now god dammit Quina.

I heard about the Chi Cheng thing months ago. But I didn't hear about this.
I don't know where you are getting the idea that Ronnie James Dio is a dick..
SOAD isnt SOAD without serj.
Chino did a fantastic job with that cover, I watched the entire two shows on youtube, it was really fantastic.

I know theyll come off of hiatus eventually. But I'm guessing late '10 theyll announce another tour then mid '11 theylll start writing new shit. Just a guess but it feels right.
