So I take it the voice actors are intended to be awful, it's part of the game's appeal or something?
Cause if it's not they really suck at finding competent voice actors.
Open world?
Co-op?
Oh god, YES!
This is going to sell stupidly well.
I thought [sp]Ghat hated father-mother?[/sp]
Still, I'm so gonna get this, loved the first one
I really don't see the appeal in these games. I mean the conversations are the dumbest I've ever seen in a videogame, though apparently delivering 3 kinds of punches to forestmen makes the game a major sellout
The last boss of the first game was awfully boring.
the first game was such a mind trip, but still the part of the game keeps being in my memory the one in the desert with two tall animals just slumbering around and those explosive squirrels or the boat travel on the river, most climactic ones.

It had a lot of charm and very very good aesthetics. True it was just a bog standard beat-em-up but it was simple fun, almost throwback-like in terms of gameplay.
Making this open-world and coop is a genius idea.
I have to say, I didn't find the combat mechanics of ZC brilliant. They were clunky and annoying. Also focussed too much on combos, which irritated me.
id like to see how they pull off open-world with source.
The art-style of the franchise is indeed quite surrealist; I take interest in this game.

I'm guessing it will be like section and hubs and loads of loading screens, unless they heavily modified the engine somehow.
I LOVED the first game. Can't wait
oh wow open world would be very cool
Awesome.

oh FUCK

Doesn't look like Source. Probably UE3.

Since the original game was made with source, I don't think they would change engines

Source fits the game quite well, I hope they have some cool designs planned for the game.
That looks totally like Source. Besides Zeno Clash is developped by a small studio. I do not believe that they would be able to buy the UE3 engine liscence.

ACE team already said that their future developments (which started with Rock of Ages) would use UE3.
Well, than I was totally wrong. Thanks for enlightning me up.
Is that Elias Toufexis (Adam jensen)?
Yeah this is Unreal Engine 3. The game should be good: I loved the first one. It will be interesting to see how an open-world and coop will work for the game. The characters looked (particularly their animations) better in the first game - and I recall Rimat having a decent voice actor: dunno what happened there. This should be good, just hope they can fix up the characters.
So I asked one of the devs some questions:
How will the open world work? Will you have a large area to explore at leisure?
Yes the environments can be explored freely, but you have to travel from one area to another in conjunction with your partner if you play in coop. The game is not linear.
Who does the other person play as in co-op?
Rimat
Will there be side-quests?
Absolutely!
Are there any RPG elements to it?
Also confirmed! I can't get into any details yet, but it's part of the new design.
Here's the thread on their forums: http://forums.aceteam.cl/index.php?showtopic=3381
This is very interesting, I'll be asking more questions soon, that's for sure.
It's going to be a big leap from the first game, from single-player linear action game to co-op open world RPG? I mean wow, this game is going to be great.

I'm pretty sure Zeno Clash 2 is going to be more in line with what Zeno Clash (back when it was still titled Zenozoik) was originally intended to be so I'm not really concerned about the transition between the two games since they've been working on the idea at least since before Zeno Clash even came out.
