I can't explain why, but I loved Hammerwatch. My friends and I sucked at it together but it was fun to play solo.

hell yes, hammerwatch was such a good game to play with friends
i wish it got more popular and there was more good, lengthy workshop content to play through
but now there's this and it looks absolutely amazing
