Hi,
Recently when doing stuff on my pc or not doing anything at all, I get a BSoD with the error "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". I've made some search around the web and the causes I found we're overheating hardware or faulty RAM.
I don't think it's the overheating because here are the temperatures after a crash:
Temperatures seen with Aida64 Extreme Edition.
Temperatures
Motherboard 45 °C (113 °F)
CPU 40 °C (104 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #1 44 °C (111 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #2 42 °C (108 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #3 45 °C (113 °F)

GPU 62 °C (144 °F)
GPU Diode 60 °C (140 °F)
GPU Memory 58 °C (136 °F)

CPU 1283 RPM
Chassis #1 996 RPM
GPU 1449 RPM (40%)

About the faulty RAM, I came to realize that when I go to My Computer's properties this is what I see:
Installed memory (RAM): 6,00 GB (4,00 GB usable)
System type: 64-bit Operating System
When I go to Aida64 I also see:
Physical Memory
Total 4094 MB
Used 1778 MB
Free 2316 MB
Utilization 43 %
Are those 2 GB of RAM I can't use (don't know why) the cause of the BSoD?
How can I fix this?
If any further info is needed, please say so.
Thanks, dj_night
I had this problem with my other computer, which is held together with bubble gum, toothpaste, and wishes. I will try reinstalling Windows.
That BSOD is normally caused by bad RAM or a dodgy motherboard, so I would download a program such as memtest and burn it to a disk, and let it run for a hour or so, to check for errors, if there are errors, test each individual stick of to find out the dodgy one, if there are no errors still, it could be a bad motherboard, which you will have to fix or replace
The unusable RAM is normally caused by the onboard graphics, if you have a dedicated card, then disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS
It can also happen from some bad drivers. Did you install any recently. The system is either reserving 2 gigs or you are on a 32 bit OS
Thanks, sorry for my delayed reply I have been busy. I will try that memtest program and will try to find that onboard graphics option, because this motherboard doesn't even have onboard graphics.
Memtest didn't detect any errors, I scanned the RAM sticks individually and nothing. Still, I tried starting the PC with some combinations of the sticks (I've got 3 sticks so I tried 1 then 2 then 3 and then in different order) and I found the stick that was causing it hopefully, because every time it was inserted the PC start "beep" would go crazy like a infinite loop of "beeps". I took it out and so far the computer is running great. I now have only 4GB of RAM but it's the same because earlier the computer would say only 4GB usable anyway.
Thanks for the help, when I have the chance I'll buy a whole set of new RAM.
