A bomb has exploded in front of a school in the southern Italian city of Brindisi killing at least one girl and injuring six others.
The blast went off as students were arriving at the Francesca Morvillo Falcone vocational school at around 07:45 (05:45 GMT).
Police have arrived at the scene to investigate the explosion. No-one has said they planted the device.
At least one of the injured is in a serious condition.
Reports say the explosive device had been placed in a rubbish container outside the school. It is unclear if one or two devices exploded, but one account suggests that the explosives had been in bags.
"Given the effect of the explosion, it appears that this was something quite powerful," an official from Italy's Civil Protection Authority said.
The BBC's Alan Johnston in Rome says there is currently no sense as to who might be behind the attack and what the motive might be.
What the fuck. Blowing up a school with children is just downright evil, even for terrorists. (if terrorists did it.)
My wish finally comes true BUT ITS THE WRONG SCHOOL :argh:

Rhetorical question by the way.
My wish finally comes true BUT ITS THE WRONG SCHOOL :argh:
Well done dumbass.
I always find it funny when kids go "OH MAN I HATE SCHOOL!" when there are literally millions upon millions of kids around the world who would give everything they own to go to school even one or two days a week.
My wish finally comes true BUT ITS THE WRONG SCHOOL :argh:
Yeah because chance for hundreds of innocent children who have done nothing wrong to be blown up is GREAT because it means NO SCHOOL.
Grow the fuck up, christ.
My wish finally comes true BUT ITS THE WRONG SCHOOL :argh:
Haha, it's funny cos people have died! Asshole.
My wish finally comes true BUT ITS THE WRONG SCHOOL :argh:
You wished a little girl would be blown to pieces at your school? Classy stuff, mate.

This is fucking horrible and not at all the kind of thing that I'd associate with Italy, or Europe for that matter.
Stuff like this is getting more often than I ever recall, that ain't good.
I'm going to withhold my "That's a spicy meatball!" joke because it'd be in really poor taste.
Be interesting to watch to see if anyone claims responsibility.
The mafia did it, because the school was named after Falcone, who fought hard against mafia and got killed for it. So the bomb was placed by the mafia, with the mean of killing young innocents, because the school had this person's name.
Now how disgusting is that? Why the children..
Pretty sure when you start blowing up random places you automatically become a terrorist...
Could've been the mob who did it for some other reason than terrorize.

You're an idiot.

How is stating that you're going to withhold a joke any better than just saying the joke? That's like saying "I could totally make a fat joke right now" to a fat person.
Digression aside, what a horrible thing to happen. Definitely not something I'd expect to come out of Italy.
Why the fuck would you bomb a school. Really, What could anyone gain from that.

Why the fuck would you bomb the world trade center. Really, what could anyone gain from that.
It's called terrorism. Violent acts which are intended to create fear (terror), are perpetrated for a religious, political or, ideological goal; and deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-combatants (civilians).
Now you understand?

Successful troll was successful. I mean wow, this is horrible news and all but leave it to Facepunch to take an obviously non-sincere post and have a stroke/activate the superiority complex about it.
