Donald Trump said Monday that he would have left the G-20 summit in China over a logistical flap that left President Obama disembarking Air Force One onto a plain metal staircase.
The president’s subdued arrival on Saturday afternoon, from a secondary exit on the presidential plane, stood in contrast to other world leaders who departed their planes onto red-carpeted stairs — and some, including Trump, perceived it as a snub by Chinese officials.
“They won't even give him stairs, proper stairs to get out of the airplane. You see that? They have pictures of other leaders who are … coming down with a beautiful red carpet. And Obama is coming down a metal staircase,” Trumps said Monday at the beginning of a roundtable with labor leaders in Brook Park, Ohio.
“I’ve got to tell you, if that were me, I would say, ‘You know what, folks, I respect you a lot but close the doors, let's get out of here,’” he added. “It’s a sign of such disrespect.”
Yes let's turn back on an important summit because of a little fuck up.
Hot-headed idiot.
if i was president i'd be happy with a folding chair and a packet of kitkats to go with some irn bru and chicken nuggets
there's no need to get upset with the type of staircase you have unless you're really narcissistic
Holy shit imagine landing at an airport to chicken nuckets and kitkats goddamn I'd feel so important.
Replace Kitkats with Snickers and I'm totally down with going to whatever's going on.

Can't be worse than the current options.

pretty strange incident considering the Chinese usually don't want to fuck up things that increase their global prestige/face such as important international events.

In this case this is bad business. Even if he loses, hes still a businessman. Perhaps this is the them showing the boot? Irregardless, shit move.
vote for me america, i'll make sure ill make this shit fabulous.
This incident makes the chinese look disrespectful which is something they'd definitely want to avoid in a diplomatic setting.
G-20 however is magnitudes above this mess-up in importance. The only real problem here is Trump's egoism and immature arrogance.

It probably was a snub.

Nothing against snickers, but someone who doesn't like kitkats aren't fit to lead.

I want the president of China to bring me a tray of chicken tendies
What a fucking child.

Kitkats are inferior. Ask my friends, they all think Kitkats are inferior. Snickers are the way to go, Kitkats...just no. Snickers are what we need to make this country great again, Kitkats just won't do the job. Kitkats just won't do the job.

Good man
The way Obama dealt with the whole affair is rather brilliant:
“I wouldn’t over-crank the significance of it because, as I said, this is not the first time that these things happen and it doesn’t just happen here. It happens in a lot of places including, by the way, sometimes our allies,” Obama said, adding that “none of this detracts from the broader scope of the relationship”.
Obama suggested his Chinese hosts might have found the size of the US delegation “a little overwhelming”.
“We’ve got a lot of planes, a lot of helicopters, a lot of cars and a lot of guys. If you are a host country, sometimes it may feel a little bit much.”
He is dismissing the severity of the insult, while embarrassing the Chinese and not giving them a real chance to reply.
i thought the point of the g20 was that it WASNT supposed to be a dick waving shitfest, think that trump should know that too
i thought the point of the g20 was that it WASNT supposed to be a dick waving shitfest, think that trump should know that too
Leaving in a huff because of the wrong stairs... what a fucking manchild.

If he's willing to leave an important meeting because he didn't get a red carpet to walk out of his nice ass jet on then imagine how he'll react to shit actually going down

Aneurysm.
And then we'd be free to actually get shit done.
Color me strange but I'd insist on the basic staircase if I were POTUS.
Isn't a major part of Trumps platform building trade relations with China?
If thats the case then this is showing the Trump is such an ineffectual leader that he'd do things to actively sabotage his own goals due to petty ego
[editline]5th September 2016[/editline]
Like how the hell can anyone support trump or even expect him to actually accomplish any of the goals he's set out in his campaign.
Isn't a major part of Trumps platform building trade relations with China?
If by "building trade relations" you mean entering a trade war with them, yes.
Who gives a fuck how Obama got off a plane?
Does he also have the pavement pressure washed especially for him?
If by "building trade relations" you mean entering a trade war with them, yes.
Oh yeah you're right it seems. So instead of building trade relations he just wants to ruin them with everyone :v:
10/10
If by "building trade relations" you mean entering a trade war with them, yes.
Doesn't Trump know trade with China even at a deficit is mutually beneficial and that his tariff would only make things worse? Shouldn't a businessman running for president understand basic economics?
