Halo: Combat Evolved was released for the PC in 2003, and Halo 2 followed along in 2007. But all we've had since then has been the recent Halo: Spartan Assault, which I don't think really counts because it was also released for the Windows Phone. And if you're thinking that this is where I say all that is about to change, I have some bad news: It's not.
Halo 5: Guardians is slated for release next year as an Xbox One exclusive and I don't think anyone would reasonably expect it to come to the PC anytime soon. But what about Halo: The Master Chief Collection, a remastered bundle of the first four Halo shooters, half of which are already on PC anyway?
"Right now we are focused on Xbox One," 343 Industries General Manager Bonnie Ross told Eurogamer. That's not the most specific platform exclusion ever, but she went on to make it clear that the existence of the first two Halo games on the PC isn't particularly relevant to what's happening right now.
"We've been on PC before, and Dan [Ayoub, 343 Industries Executive Producer] has had games like Halo: Spartan Assault on there," she said. [B]"We're listening to the PC fans, but right now this is all focused on Xbox One."

One day..... *Tear rolls down cheek*
look microsoft I have money. It can be your money. All you've got to do is put some Halo 3 on PC.
if they are doing it, it's not gonna be lined up with the xbone release obviously, and they're not gonna announce it now or a lot of xbones aren't gonna be sold
Give it a year and a half and let's see what happens.

I said the same thing a year and a half ago.
i remember when the general internet consensus was that halo was a bad game
Sounds like they just don't care about the PC crowd. They could be earning sooo much more money right now.
'pc is the leading platform'
'listening to pc fans'
companies love to spew out shit these days
I have no clue why they don't make a PC version of anything. Or why all console focused developers don't just do that.
I mean, the PC is the biggest games platform. Not only is it in the most homes by far, but IIRC it recently became the most used platform for games. There's no way they're not going to wind up making more profit out of a PC version.
Is it because the publishers are the console manufacturers bitches and they give them money not to make PC versions? Or in this case, the publisher is a manufacturer. I mean, Microsoft makes Windows, but I guess they don't take home anywhere near as much per PC version of a game sold, compared to each Xbox version since Windows isn't totally locked down to a store where MS takes a big cut of every sell. I dunno.

That was when it was basicly the CoD of the time.
i remember when the general internet consensus was that halo was a bad game
remember when anyone cared
me neither
They are probably afraid that if Halo 3 (or halo 4 for that matter) comes out for PC i'l pull all the playerbase from the xbox one to pc :v:
don't worry halo 3 will be released for pc when the pc 2 comes out

It's Xbox One first, PC second. Slap Windows Phones and Kinect inbetween the Xbone and PC and viola. It makes sense profit-wise, because the Xbox One gets them money directly as does the licensing for games on the system and their first-party published titles (aka Halo), compared to a PC running Windows and otherwise there's not much else there to gain besides licensing for work-related software from them.
That'd change if they were to put their first-party games on the PC, but they don't seem to care about taking the risks whatsoever and just stick to the Xboxes.

More like PC One
Release the Master Chief Collection for Linux.

i think you pretty much nailed it
the entire point of console exclusives is to restrict games to one platform so the incentive to buy that particular platform skyrockets
343 had one opportunity to improve the halo franchise and they squandered the fuck out of it by actively making the game worse.
Youtube has known how to get halo 3 on pc for years

Last I remember that phase of the internet, people mostly ragged on Halo because of its community, and only disliked the game through it being associated with annoying kiddies.
343, how about you listen fucking harder
Microsoft hates money from games. You need to remember this. The X-box one is just their new ploy to waste money for a few years. It's why they won't make any new PC games and kept using a bad service as GFWL. They just hate to make money.
What, make millions more by releasing a game series for PC? Don't do it Microsoft, you'll make money, you don't want that.
i don't understand why people give a crap about halo being on pc? it's a pretty average to subpar game that only got big because it was one of the first fpses for xbox

don't get me wrong they're pretty fun games but even then, the funness of them is pretty much only realized on a console where you can do splitscreen

nostalgia / all the fun times had on multiplatyer
Then you're not listening to PC fans. The only thing they want is the whole series on PC, that's literally it.
I have to wonder
How much would you guys pay only for a Halo 3 on PC?
$20? $40? $60?
Hell I'll set up a poll. Agree for 20, disagree for 40, and useful for 60

I would pay 40 for just Halo 3 alone. If it was the Master Chief Collection though, I would definitely pay 60.

Personally I feel the MC collection would be worth more $120.
